I ordered the Tuna, the portion was good but the plate tiny to contain the food, a bit uncomfortable to eat, also a bit too salty. Service was great and food was prepared quickly

Tento is fantastic - so different from any other Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in Sydney. Really inventive food - always delicious and beautifully presented in quite a contemporary way. Excellent service and a good atmosphere all round.

Excellent: ✨ - Prompt Seating: Arrived early, yet accommodated promptly despite the busy lunch rush. - Service: Staff was attentive and managed to set up a quieter spot for us right away. - Food Quality: Dishes arrived quickly and presentation was Instagram-worthy, exactly as advertised. - Standout Dish: Hotate tartan achazuke was delicious, particularly loved for its sweet notes. - Drinks: Peach oolong iced tea was nice and refreshing, hitting the right balance of sweetness. Could Be Better: 🤔 - Ambiance: Seated in a darker hallway section; missed the vibrant outdoor light and atmosphere. Next time I'd opt to sit outdoor. - Location: The seating area near the lift and next to a furniture store lacked the ideal dining environment. - Food Saltiness: Ramen with salmon and tonkotsu base was overly salty. - Portion vs. Price: Gobo chips were interesting but offered in a small quantity for the price. - Drink Variety: Strawberry hoji-cha was just okay, not particularly memorable. Overall, Tento impresses with its service and some dishes, but some aspects like ambiance and drink variety could enhance the dining experience further. Definitely will return one day, ideally with a smaller group.

We did not know about this place as it has no street front and was until recently open for lunch only. The food was beautifully presented and generous. Although it advertises as izakaya it seems closer to a budget-friendly fine diner. The decor is simple but beautiful and the the service is excellent. We the sashimi large, homemade tofu and karaage. and followed with the sesame rolls for dessert. The drinks menu looked interesting but we had the happy hour drinks at the Beresford (6-8) so did not feel like more.

A fantastic dinner. Lovely izakaya menu with a bit of an elevated presentation. Highlights were the smoked wings and homemade tofu but every dish was wonderful. Saké selection was also excellent.

We chose to come here as we felt like fresh raw seafood but felt the food was average in taste and freshness. The dishes need to be more descriptive on the menu or better explained by staff. The ambiance is a bit harsh for dinner, it felt like we were sitting in a cafe.

This is a gem find! I came here for a belated birthday dinner celebration with my husband and daughter on Thursday, 7th Dec. It is tucked away in a side street between a couple of buildings. The food is exquisite and well presented. The menu is amazing with a variety of very interesting and unusual dishes that were incredibly delicious. If you are after fine dining at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this restaurant. Well done to the chef/s, and a team of very attentive staff members.

I didn't expect I was the only booking on the night. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable. It was an exceptional dining experience with delicious food.

It’s a hidden gem in that location. The dish I ate was really fresh & delicate. I had “Otyazuke” this time, and I’d like to try another dish for sure. The staff were also very attentive and friendly. Is there any chance update the menu?

Good experience and delicious food Service could improve. Advanced booking but table missing a chair. Better to change business model to walk ins only. Have to ask for table water and later ask for sugar syrup for matcha latte(this can improve by self service, or maybe it was but I wasn’t aware). Make us seem like demanding customers but these are basic elements of dining Oysters were our favourite and ramen is a must

Tento is not like any other Japanese restaurant in Sydney - and sitting in the hidden-away courtyard doesn't feel like Sydney, either. Really delicious ramen, presented in a way that's so different and so lovely. The cheesecake is amazing...everything I've tried at Tento has been the best.

It was our first time at TenTo and the staff were very accommodating in their service! We tried their Salmon Ochazuke and their Mentaiko Udon (Special) accompanied with their Iced Matcha and Iced Mocha. The food was fantastic and delicious! Their Iced Matcha is "Kyoto" style, bitter with no additional sweeteners. They provide you with sugar, syrup or honey as sweetener options on the side. Will definitely come back again and recommend TenTo to my other family and friends!
