Tavi is an Israeli restaurant serving made-to-order pita from a wood-fired oven, elaborately finished hummus plates, and small and large plates drawing from the same modern Israeli inspiration as its sister restaurant, Shaya. The name Tavi is inspired by the Hebrew word meaning “good or beloved” and that’s what Tavi aims to deliver to the Covington community. Executive Chef Fariz Choumali leads the kitchen and brings his Lebanese Roots to life through staples from the Shaya menu plus new dishes. The menu will highlight an array of small plates, hummus, sandwiches, and slow-roasted meats.

We enjoyed everything we ordered. Just a clean, comfortable place to sit and eat. We went close to lunch so we have to go back for the dinner menu. Really nice place.

Love!! Service, food, atmosphere all wonderful!!! Rebecca and Zack behind the bar were fantastic . Rebecca had great suggestions and was so kind. The food is fresh and the drinks were great! Fried chicken Hummus is amazing!!! We lived it so much we went back 2 days in a row. Mother’s Day special was smoked salmon on croissant and it was mouthwatering good.

There were things that were very good, and others not so good. First, the restaurant is beautiful, everyone was nice and some food - the hangar steak, hummus, bread, mouusaka was outstanding. Other things were just OK, while others weren't very good. (We got plenty and shared everything.) Biggest problem was the service. She got part of our order wrong, and after my wife told her - she basically said that's what we ordered. While she brought the item we ordered afterward, we were still charged for the original item, as well, and I didn't notice it until after we had left and my wife asked me about it. (Which is my fault for not looking.) Overall, while it was a pleasant experience, it was a bit pricey and the service made it to where we probably wouldn't go back.

Having dined at Shaya in New Orleans I had high expectations. They were met on all counts. 3 course Mezze. Lamb Kabobs. Endless fresh baked pita. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Mediterranean menu. Delicious food. Generous potions. Attentive, friendly service. By all means, Share! My friend and I went for lunch and split the hummus with mushrooms; the pita bread was large, light, and fluffy. Then we shared an order of moussaka (more tomato than eggplants, but delicious.) And then we split a lamb burger: large,layered, two delicious lamb patties, with excellent condiments. I had ordered a mint iced tea with the meal, and got a whole pitcher; when I asked for a go-cup, our server Tiara brought me a hefty container of cold mint tea, along with the boxed hummus which we had not finished - accompanied by a fresh, warm pita bread. We were thoroughly pleased - delighted… and full. I will definitely be back.

Mark is an efficient, kind, positive, happy person and what a great way to start off your experience. Food never fails us here. Always a go to place when friends from out of town. Pretty much order a little of everything and do share plates and that works the best for our group. Absolutely the hummus with the best pita ever made, beets, brussel sprouts (even if your initial inclination is to roll your nose). Any of the desserts are worth a try and the rest is a matter of what you like to eat. We will keep this on our go to list:).

We had reservations and yet no seating indoors. I did not enjoy having a meal of this expense eaten on outdoor patio furniture because the resturant was full. We used our iPhones to provide light to see what we were eating. Thus the ambience was nonexistent. The food seamed good.

Great service and great food! We got almost every hummus and a couple of additional small plates. Lamb ragu hummus and fried chicken hummus were probably our top two but everything was so good!!

This is a great spot for happy hour snack and drink. The 4 to 6 PM half-price options make it very attractive. The service was very good and the food delicious. The small plates are a wonderful option for those who do not want a large meal. Outdoor seating is pleasant and quiet. Nice selection of drinks, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic.

I love that a restaurant offers REAL food and knows how to prepare, and serve it - making meal time enjoyable. Our waitress offered water, then a plate of veggies to begin with - which is what is missing from the Standard American Diet - and we got it for sure at Tavi - no problem! Thank you Tavi and staff for your excellent preparation of food! lovely ladies lunch over and over again, plus multiple date nights here.

Fantastic Happy Hour! We are obsessed with the Chicken Hummus…it’s absolutely addictive. Also had a couple of salads and shared a flatbread pizza. Wonderfully prepared cocktails, never felt rushed. Great experience, will definitely be back soon.

My wife and I had Easter dinner at Tavi's. It was our first time. The whole experience was delightful. From a very good Bloody Mary with in house cured vegetables to attentive wait staff to excellent food, we were happy that we were there. We'll be back!

Seated at a two top table near a wall and felt very extremely crowded. Constant traffic next to the table due to location and felt like I was on top of the diner behind me. Had no place to put a purse/jacket. I also felt like the food being more lavorful the last time I dined there but overall we did have a very nice dinner!

Fantastic! Every dish was perfectly prepared, seasoned, and presented! From the fresh baked pita and house made hummus with wild mushrooms, to the steak the sea bass, and labneh cheesecake-wonderful. We’re still talking today about how good yesterday’s meal was! The attention to detail in use of a variety of Middle Eastern spices together with quality ingredients makes Tavi our favorite restaurant in Covington! Highly recommend.
