For centuries, a taverna has been a neighborhood gathering place where friends can meet to eat, drink and enjoy life. Taverna co-founders Thanasis Pashalidis and Hakan Bala were raised with a shared ethical compass, which the Greeks call "philotimo" or "love of honor". Family and friends are their ingredients of life, and they believe that nutrition, happiness and health are all directly correlated. Both partners have been culturally influenced by the remedies of the old world and incorporate them into the lifestyle of Taverna. Both have an "ethos" that drives them and inspires others to live fully, which they consider the flavor of life's success. They understand that life is to be enjoyed and that time is of the essence. They are aware that every day is a gift.

Taverna has been created to make people happy and feel alive.

We had a fabulous dinner here. The appetizers of octopus and halloumi cheese were delicious. Our entrees of lamb and whole fish were excellent. Service was outstanding. Look forward to returning here soon.

I enjoyed a wonderful birthday dinner with my girlfriend at Taverna. The service was exceptional and we really enjoyed the food. Overall, this was one of the best meals I've had this year and we had a great night out.

The Moussaka was so freaking good! And generous. (Had the leftovers for dinner tonight!) We ate outside on a perfect-weather evening. All the staff were friendly, responsive, and professional. Will go again.

The food was not real Greek tasting. And the main course arrived before one of the appetizers.

Overall, service was not warm. Some of the staff seemed nice, especially the host, but the waiter who took our order barely wanted to be there. And sure enough, he eventually just disappeared. Why of course we had to ask for the check, which we received with no “thank you” whatsoever. Greek salad was pretty and tasty.

Food was excellent, outdoor seating had a couple of large pseudo noise level was higher than usual. Service was very relaxed. Lovely evening and very good dinner.

Wow, what an unforgettable dining experience! Our recent visit to Taverna was truly exceptional, thanks to the warm and inviting atmosphere, attentive service, and mouthwatering Greek cuisine that left us in awe. From the moment we stepped inside, we felt transported to Greece itself - the decor, music, and aromas all combined to create a Mediterranean paradise. Our server, Fotis, was a true gem - knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to make recommendations that proved spot-on. The food? Absolutely sublime! We indulged in a variety of appetizers, each one a flavor explosion: Tzatziki, Spicy Feta, Halloumi, Spanakopita, Kolokithokeftedes (crispy Zucchini cakes), Horiatiki Salata (Greek salad), and Pantzaria (chilled Heirloom Beets). The main course and desserts were equally impressive - tender Chicken souvlaki cooked to perfection, and the Yiaourti (Greek yogurt with Athenian Wildflower honey) and Bougatsa (folded phyllo with vanilla crema and Pistachio ice cream) provided a sweet and satisfying conclusion to our meal. The wine list is extensive and impressive, and the cocktails are creative and delicious. Generous portions and reasonable prices only added to our delight. We left feeling full, happy, and already planning our next visit! If you're a Greek food enthusiast or simply seeking a fantastic dining experience, look no further than Taverna. Five stars aren't enough - I'd give it ten if I could!
