Taverna is a warm and inviting neighborhood restaurant that offers a truly Italian experience without having to leave Texas. Our Italian chefs strive to create the perfect menu using seasonal ingredients for their surprising entrees; every day we present a variety of northern Italian delights from simple comforts such as pan seared sea bass to delicate pasta and fabulous risotto.

Risotto is indeed our flagship dish. We only use Carnaroli rice – the “king of the rice”; thanks to its particular characteristics and firm texture the Carnaroli grain maintains its shape during the slow cooking required for a perfect and creamy risotto. Our broad offering includes truffle oil and Parmigiano risotto, bay scallops with home made pesto and an inspired Vin Santo risotto with asparagus and prosciutto.

I was in town on business and at here by myself out on the terrace. It’s a busy shopping area, but it was interesting and keep me entertained since I was eating by myself. The food and wine were excellent as was the service. The owner/manager came by several times to check to see how everything was, which I so appreciated. I hope if I’m ever in the Plano area again, I’ll choose to eat here. Thank you for a great meal.

On a perfect day, this place is nice. However it was rainy and the patio was covered, but floor and furniture wet, and the roof was dripping on the tables. Food was average and small portions with the exception of the pizza. Bread wasn’t that fresh. I think for $20 per plate, I expected a lot more. Overall, it was fine. Nothing special.

Just really a very “mid meal “ for Mother’s Day . Spent over $100 and it was just ok. Nothing stands out. Kenny’s Italian on beltline sooo much better !

Great food and service. The waiter had great recommendations. I had the bolognese which was delish. My son had the pizza and my husband had the eggs benedict. I would come back just to try more items.

I want to start by saying I had lunch at the Taverna in Uptown TWO days before my experience at the Legacy West location. The reason we went to the Legacy West location was for a few reasons: 1) we live closer to it, 2) we were celebrating my birthday, 3) I had been thinking about their spaghetti carbonara since I took my first bite two days prior. This was a complete let down. First, our server was fine - kind, but not very attentive. Didn’t ask if it was our first time there or if we were there celebrating anything (since I couldn’t add it to my reservation for whatever reason), didn’t tell us what the specials were (but did tell the table behind us), didn’t even check on us for 25 minutes after our food was delivered. I was saw him check on nearby tables, but we did not get the same attention as the posh families sitting in the booths. Whatever, it’s fine. The food we received is unforgivable. I got the spaghetti carbanara that I had been thinking since my first bite at lunch two days ago. It tasted like… cream noodles. NOT a carbanara. No flavor, no seasoning. The only thing that added some sort of flavor was the pancetta, but otherwise, this is an absolute disappointment. Once our server checked on us 25 minutes later & I finally got my spoon and could request parmesan cheese. The parm slightly helped but this experience has already turned me away from ever wanted to come to this location again. My fiance got the Cacio Pepe… and his meal tasted like nothing. Completely lacked flavor. No pepper flavor, no cheese flavor, again just creamed noodles. It was bizarre! How do two different meals come out tasting the same? I didn’t even want to stay for dessert. We left as quickly as we could. This location is a joke. If you want to eat at Taverna and have the food done well, do not eat here. Drive to the Uptown location or anywhere else. I would have rather spend my money at Olive Garden than go there last night. Such a huge disappointment.

Fantastic overall experience - great food and cocktails, attentive but not intrusive server. We saw at a patio table which made for great people watching as well as we enjoyed our meal and cocktails.

We love taverna. The food is always great. They have a good wine selection. My wife has celiac and they are always very accommodating to her gluten intolerance. Wait staff is knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond the take any necessary changes.

The Legacy West area is such a nice spot to relax, have a great meal and enjoy time with friends. This was a great restaurant for our casual business dinner. The staff accommodated our extra two attendees and the service was perfect to match the food. Recommend it 100%.

We started (as always) with the Taverna Focaccia. It was great although we were disappointed that this location did not have the chili oil. Why? The Knox/Henderson location always has it. My buddy had the lasagna--he loved it. His wife and I each had the seafood risotto special which was good. My wife had the Risotto con Burrata and was disappointed since the plate had just ONE SMALL PIECE of prosciutto and three cherry tomato halves. All in all it was good. The (male-forgot his name) service was great and the ambiance was fine. The quality of food seems to be slipping just a bit. I hope it gets fixed before Taverna becomes just another one of those "used to be" restaurants.

We had a reservation and were 35-40 minutes late in being seated with no real explanation. The restaurant redeemed itself by paying for our drinks at the bar while waiting and voluntarily providing appetizers for our table. The manager checked on us frequently during dinner. We appreciated the attempt to make up for our inconvenience. Food was excellent as usual, and once seated, the service was fine.

We went for Easter & had a great experience. The food was amazing & tasted so fresh. The server was on top of our drinks & so nice! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for GOOD Italian food!

Party of 4 on the Patio…We were all excited to finally dine here. The food was okay but overpriced. We enjoyed the patio although the noise from the street had a negative impact on the overall ambiance. Our service was not good, perhaps 8:00pm reservation was too late. The 2 unisex 1 stall restrooms were both really dirty and had lines that put you uncomfortably in the servers well station. Overall it was okay but none of us really care to go back.
