Newly remodeled, the much airier Tavern is all about art, music, and above all great food. Open for lunch and soon to include evening dining, the Tavern adds a distinctly Mexican/Pacific Coast set of flavors to the local fine dining scene.

We are located in the heart of the Cedros Design District, within walking distance of the Amtrak station. The style is casual with indoor and outdoor dining ( plus bar seating). The patio, which can accommodate 18 guests, looks out onto the shop-lined Cedros Avenue and can be separated from the main dining area for private events.

*Please note* Our restaurant welcomes walk-ins during our Lunch hours from 11:30 am- 3:30 pm.
*Tavern restaurant will be closed for dinner (Lunch will remain open Monday and Tuesday when the belly up is dark)

Server was really nice and our meal (Fillet Mignon and Short ribs) and drinks (Lemon drops) were delicious. And it was nice to get to use the side entrance for Belly Up.

The soup was good (creamy corn poblano chowder), but the tequila chicken spring rolls were bland & lacked flavor. Overall I think this restaurant is overpriced for what you get, but it’s convenient before a show at the Belly Up.

Good dinner. Was dissatisfied with server Whitney S. Wanted to line up to get into club 15 minutes early, she did say everyone can line up at 6:30, she was very quick to tell me you can't line up til 6:30 SHARP! Ok fine. Showed up to line at 6:28 and there was already a large group (20) of people already lined up. Why did she firmly tell me 6:30 when she let most everyone in early to line up? Anyways I was fine with everything else. Food was good and service was fine up to that point.

Hostess was not very professional when we arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation. Told us to go away and come back on time. No suggestion to grab a drink at the bar. Food was good and server was pleasant. A good location for pre-show dining at The Belly Up.

Outstanding as always. We love grabbing a bite before a show. Nice having your own entrance as well. We are trying to plan a getaway in the area so we can try them for lunch.

Great place and love the Euro flair of the sidewalk seating. My wife and I come here a few times a year and really enjoy the food and ambiance. On Mother's Day, we brought a guest and she ordered the lobster tacos - first real disappointing dish we've seen - the lobster chucks were minimal and swimming an brothy sauce - it was pretty unappealing. Other than that, the rest of the food/drinks were really good. Perhaps this was just a one-off occurrence.

The food was pretty good, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the scallops and hubby had the braised short ribs. The server was very attentive, much better than most places we go anymore. We did arrive about 15 min before reservation time and we're able to be seated. We went because we were seeing a show there.
