Tavern House is the creation of restaurateurs David Wilhelm and Gregg Solomon who have developed numerous Orange County restaurants over the past 25 years, including Kachina, Bistro 201, Barbacoa, Chat Noir, Diva, Sorrento Grille and French 75. The menu reflects a collection of Chef Wilhelm's popular signature seafood and comfort food dishes. A large centrally located bar drives a vibrant night time scene in what is arguably one of the best view locations in Newport Harbor. It also has fireplace lit, 50 seat private room for banquets.

This may have been the most delicious meal I have ever had! It was a special celebration as my son moves away so I treated him with an ocean view sunset dinner. We shared the coconut shrimp, a Caesar salad, and the phenomenal pork chop with Spokane’s and Brussels sprouts. Everything was perfection! And the service was exceptional! It was heaven! I can’t wait to return for my birthday or a special date!

Went there for the first time a couple of months ago. Food was fabulous. Service was bad. Decided to give it a second try. Once again, food was great. Service was just awful. I would expect a restaurant that charges $50+ for a prime rib to accommodate substitutions - fries for mashed potatoes. Was told kitchen was too busy for substitutions and if we wanted fries we would have to order on the side. Service was slow and they blamed it a private party. So many restaurants at this price point that are so much more friendly, accommodating and professional.

Ask to sit in Brian R’s section. He was such a fun server and had a great sense of humor despite my father in law not being a great customer. The food was fantastic. Don’t let them fool you though, the Bananageddon is more like for 4+ please not the 2-4 it’s advertised as. So delicious!

Every time I come here our food is delicious! Brought some friends with us this time, it was their first experience at Tavern House. They loved their food and the ambience is wonderful. Our only complaint was we had ordered coffee and it was actually cold however they immediately a new fresh pot and it was nice and hot and delicious. We were enjoying a nice quiet late afternoon lunch and unfortunately there were some very loud guest they were seated behind us, but thankfully we were almost done with our meal. Overall the service is amazing and the food is exceptional.

The food was delicious and the cost was reasonable. Your food server, Hayley, was very attentive and provided excellent service. My family and I have been there several times for Sunday brunch in the passed few months and plan to continue.

Service wasn’t as good as usual. Sat for almost 10 minutes before our server arrived. Food was great as always. Valets were unorganized. We finally went and got our own car.

We celebrated our anniversary at Tavern House Kitchen + Bar. Our experience was terrific. We had great service, food, wine…and a bay view window table !
