RENOWNED ORANGE COUNTY RESTAURATEUR DAVID WILHELM, ALONG WITH LONGTIME FRIEND AND PARTNER GREGG SOLOMON, RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS ICONIC RESTAURANT IN THE HEART OF CHARMING DOWNTOWN SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO OVERLOOKING THE JEWEL OF THE CALIFORNIA MISSIONS.
It will continue as Cedar Creek Inn in the near future but Wilhelm will be introducing many of his signature classic comfort foods such as his Famous Buttermilk Fried Chicken, French 75’s Onion Soup, and Whiskey Shrimp Dijon, featured at his Tavern House kitchen+bar in Newport Beach.

Cedar Creek Inn has a beautiful tree covered patio with views of Mission San Juan Capistrano and a warm interior with two fireplaces. Wilhelm intends to have this restaurant continue to be a neighborhood favorite.

We go to the Tavern at the Mission frequently, often taking guests. It has all we really want - pleasant environment, great service, good food. I would suggest that the menu says it is possible to order protein with the salads that don't come with it. I noticed the waitress asking if our guest wanted one, which was nice. I probably would have ordered different salad had I known I could add chicken or fish. However, I was delighted with the Mediterranean. Thank you!

As always, all of our meals were delicious - prime rib dip sandwich, pepperoni and sausage flatbread, onion soup, clam chowder, halibut fish special and the Bananageddon for dessert! Service is great and love sitting at the table by the fireplace.

The new owners have done a tremendous job in updating the interior - it's so nice. Six of us ate lunch there yesterday - had 5 different salads between us. Everyone raved about the food - and the service was truly spectacular. We all said Bettie was the best server - efficient, friendly, funny, accommodating. Wonderful overall!

Beautiful location, overlooking the Mission in San Juan Capistrano. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the ambiance and the service. The food was very good, with a good variety of options. We used to come here when it was Cedar Creek Inn and are very pleased that the standards are just as high. We will definitely be returning.

Great menu with a lot of variety. The Sunday Suppers are such a great value for guests.

We had a lovely late lunch starting with the delicious French Onion soup. The Brown Derby salad was outstanding. Service from Stephanie was stellar! We love the new menu and renovation.

The coconut shrimp was overcooked & outer crust overdone not as large as shrimp was told by server.

Wonderful outdoor setting. We enjoyed both of our entrees for lunch. Waiter was helpful and attentive.
