Food was low quality. The server knocked over a drink when serving food, spilled on one of us. The server returned with a bunch of napkins and just set them on the table and walked away. We told our main server who apologized and brought another drink. We got our bill and nothing was comped. We would have accepted a drink comp. Did speak to the mgr, who was not aware of what happened and took care of us.

This place was busy on a Wednesday night, but that did not compromise the experience. I ordered a lemon drop martini, not on the menu, and it was ok. Certainly not the $16 I paid for it. I ordered the ahi tuna sandwich, delicious. My friend ordered the hickory burger and she said it was really good, it really hit the spot. All in all, I would go back but would skip the lemon drop martini.

My Maui Tacos were very good and my husband's Beef Stroganoff was also very good. Service was fine, if not perfunctory. We had many different people after our initial server and had to ask for water when our glasses were empty.

We dined here for a family birthday. Ambiance and noise level were perfect. Surprisingly it was not busy for 6:30pm. Our server was kind and brought drinks right away. We never got his name, but he took our order, and our food arrived quickly. That's essentially the last we saw of him. Never came back to check on everyone's food or drinks. Never offered dessert, which we would have gotten due to my father's birthday. It took over 25 minutes to get to-go boxes and our check. Everything really was great, except the extreme lack of service once our food was delivered.

We were pleasantly surprised that a place called a “tavern” would be so nice. The food was excellent and the service great. It’s easily accessible for older people who don’t climb stairs well. We will go back for sure.

Service and atmosphere were good. The place has a lively and upscale vibe. Cleared out after happy hour ended. A diverse menu. Was somewhat disappointed in the mediocre effort on my Rueben sandwich and the small handful of frys. Expected more for $17. Decent tap beer selection.

Seems like the staff doesn't believe in the place. Average food, above average prices and tired decor.

Great location with plenty of parking. Menu is extensive and table service is friendly and quick. Try the beef stroganoff, chicken pesto, or fish dishes - fresh, tasty,and good portions.

Our service with Michelle was excellent. She was so friendly and a great waitress. Our food was delicious, and we will definitely return. Thank you.

You will wish you hadn't asked. Tavern 23 used to be great, well, very good. Maybe a year ago. But now the food was inedible for both my spouse and me. They supposedly thought they were getting a croque madam but it was two slices of ordinary bread with white sauce poured inside and on top which had no taste (it is supposed to be Bechamel sauce, toasted bread, a good ham (not a thin piece of packaged ham) with a fried egg on top (it was cold). Mine was equally bad. The coffee we got after waiting longer than expected was only warm. The waitstaff went off into the kitchen after pouring this liquid and was gone for 15 minutes until we finally waved her down. The manager did come out to speak to us when the waitperson told him we were unhappy with our food. He said he'd speak to management and staff (maybe he will, maybe it will change things??). The "food" was taken off our bill but we will never, ever go there again.

The entrees looked better than they tasted,bland and the burgers had burnt edges. Reminds me when my dad would accidentally drop one of the burgers down into the hot coals of the BBQ pit,salvage what's left of it, and merely dusted off the excess coal. If Subway made sushi, I would imagine it would taste like the sushi from this place. The decor is lovely.
