Two venues side-by-side & right on the water in Currumbin. Enjoy exclusive views of the creek while dining in our cafe downstairs, or takeaway and on sit on the shore. We are predominately walk-in only with reservations available only for upstairs. Groups of 12 pax or more please email hello@tarte.com.au for package options.

We’ve just opened our newest space dubbed ‘the hideout’ in Currumbin. Upstairs from our restaurant overlooking the beautiful Moreton bay fig tree and water, for hosting private functions up there with 3 different dining packages. Brunch. High tea. Family style lunch. Bookings for 12 - 30 pax require use of this space.

Food took more than 1 hour to arrive. Food was cold. I think food wasn’t that great for the price point.

Lunch for 7 ladies. Considerate seating as we had booked outdoor and the sun was hot on those seats so we were offered a table inside. Prompt service. Not too long a wait for food but with company, maybe we did not notice as much. Each meal was yummy. I had pea and haloumi patties which were lovely though a liitle salty with the halloumi. A shortage of gluten free food though.

The location of the restaurant is great, the staff very friendly and the food delicious; however, the service was disappointing. To begin, we were left standing at the front door, in the cool breeze, for about 10 minutes before anyone came past to talk to us. Many staff walked past us, but no-one came over to talk to us, even if it was just to say, 'we'll be with you in a moment'. There was no acknowledgement we were standing there. Once seated we were left for well over 10 minutes before anyone came to offer us table water or ask if we wanted anything to drink and/or take our order. Despite being told that Tarte caters for all dietary needs, there was no choice for someone who is GF/DF, and only a very small choice for GF. There also seemed a reluctance to vary the menu so that dietary needs could be accommodated, on top of that, the food took a long time to come. We were told it would take approximately 30 mins for our meal (which we didn't have a problem with, we appreciate that it was cooked fresh) however, the meal was served nearly an hour later. During that wait time no-one checked to see if we needed anything else - a drink? more water? nothing! It was a disappointing experience.

Unfortunately we were given cold coffee and waited 1 hour from time of arrival to receive any food. Very disappointing as there were still a lot of empty tables at this time.

Great ambience and food and while service was very friendly & polite, not enough staff on and service VERY very slow which really spoilt the flow of the experience. At the end of our desert we were still waiting for our cocktails!

Venue is in an idyllic spot. We were a bit out of the way and didn’t see much of the staff, although they were personable and lovely.
