Au cœur du restaurant Tao préside une statue de Bouddha de près de 5 mètres, qui flotte au-dessus d'un bassin miroitant rempli de carpes japonaises. Une destination de prédilection pour les célébrités et les athlètes, ce restaurant panasiatique se spécialise dans la cuisine authentique de Hong Kong, de la Chine, du Japon et de la Thaïlande. La salle à manger du Tao s'étend sur trois niveaux, dont le très prisé « Skybox » qui offre une vue sur cette ancienne et incomparable salle de cinéma de New York qui est devenue le restaurant. En plus de ses 300 sièges, le Tao dispose d'un bar à sushis, de même que d'un salon et de deux bars pour profiter de la nourriture et d'un spectacle. La fourchette de prix est de 8 USD à 18 USD pour les entrées et de 16 USD à 39 USD pour les plats principaux. Un menu du dîner au prix fixe de 27,50 USD est proposé à l'année.

Tao Uptown was okay. I think it missed the mark because the reviews I read and pictures I saw was from Tao downtown. The orange chicken lo mein & chicken dumplings were all excellent. The lobster fried rice lacked egg & veggies & flavor, my kimchee was on the side as I requested & thankfully because I didn’t like it. The tai bbq chicken was okay, it wasn’t what I expected but not bad either. Everything was served very quickly and fresh. I would try Downtown my next visit because I didn’t get the aesthetic I was looking for.

Excellent experience for our daughter’s 16th Bday. Our hostess, Precious was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu selections to assist those who had sensitive dietary needs. The food was delicious, flavorful and prepared well. Will definitely recommend and return. Well done the Birthday Girl was pleased.

Old glory! Not a proper restaurant, more like a disco for underaged teenagers, a lot of them there. Most frightening was that so many people brought their babies and small children since the music was so loud and impossible to talk there. Food came at the same time as the drinks, saying everything about the food quality. Not a nice experience.

I really enjoyed my time at Taos Uptown. The drinks was great. The food was amazing like always. Our waitress was even more wonderful. She made sure we were comfortable and suggested meals and drinks for us to try.

If you are looking for a bustling, instagrammable, midtown celebration with Asian food tailor made for the American palate, this is the place for you. We came to celebrate our 17 year old and saw every age from 5 to 70 at the tables around us (including a table with 8 teenagers who managed to spend the entire night individually scrolling their phones). On a busy Saturday night with loud music blaring, the waiter was very attentive and the service impeccable. With its beautiful cavernous dining room, TAO really stands out from all the other restaurants in the area and has to be experienced at least once.

The food here was amazing. The staff are very professional and nice. My wife and I had a great time. Definitely a little pricey but it’s worth the cost in my opinion.

Cool vibe, a little noice but the food was good. They could adjust the meny and make a lot of the food gluten free. It felt expected to buy drinks and dessert in audition to the additional meal

Absolutely divine Chilean sea bass skewers. We ordered many items (small and large plates) to share and all were fabulous! Service was great. One of our favorite spots in Manhattan!

Uptown Tao is my favorite location. The energy and ambiance is incredible. I’ve been dining at this location for 10 years. It’s my go to when I have out of town guests. The staff is professional and friendly. And, The food is consistently great. Highly recommend Uptown Tao to anyone looking for a unique and fun vibe!

Setting/decor was wonderful. The massive bidda was impressive. The Ying/Yang label for the bathroom was cute. The best was the prompt attentive service. Presentation of food was beautiful. Food tasted great. Had the 3 martini lunch. Will go again.

The food was maybe our best meal ever!! Our server, Connie, could not have made us feel anymore welcome. We felt as though we were at her house. She had no idea what we were celebrating but she made our whole experience the best ever!

The music is TOO loud to have a decent conversation with my date. I'd like to have the music turned down to a comfortable where I can hear my date without saying 'What?....I can't hear you....please repeat...'

I took my mom here for an early Mother's Day celebration and she loved it. Right when walking in, you're greeted with happy staff and there is a lounge area you are offered to sit in while you wait for your table to be ready. There was a waiter in the lounge area to offer you any drinks you may want. Pro: Staff was professional and kind. The restaurant was well decorated and well lit (aka, it wasn't too dark or too bright). My mom and I ordered Shrimp Tempura sushi and pork fried dumplings as appetizers, and they were both delicious. Our main noodle dishes were alright. They weren't the best Asian food we've had. We did take the rest to go. Con: since my mother has some knee pain issues, the stairs was difficult for her to climb up and down. We were on the 2nd floor, so we had to walk down 2 flights of stairs just to go to the bathroom. Of course this isn't the restaurant's fault, but it's just to keep in mind that if you have knee problems, make sure you request to sit on the ground floor rather than the 2nd floor. Since this restaurant was high end, there was an assistant in the bathroom. She was helpful, but you could tell she has had a long day. Not a lot of people go to the bathroom with cash, let alone go places with cash on hand in general, so I could see that it was taking a toll on the assistant as well. Overall, my experience here was great, I'd definitely come back here for another occasion. .

The food was Incredible. This was a business dinner with colleagues and wow what a treat. The “Sweet Pray Love” dessert trio of chocolate cake, giant fortune cookie and the chai crème brûlée was so good and the presentation of it was awesome.

Went there for my birthday with some friends and the ambiance was good but the only thing is that it was dark. Most places had light but where we were was dark and we had to use the lights on our phone to read the menu. Also, my friend and I ordered chicken lo mein which had lots of mushrooms but no chicken. And one of my other friends ordered pad Thai but not much sauce was on it. We had a great time but the food could have been better.

Service was horrible still left 22% tip. But food for 5:40 reservation arrived one hour later. No one ever came or checked on us. I explained we had a birthday celebration. No acknowledgement. We went somewhere less for desserts. Waiters hung out together 6-7 people at a time rather than check on refill or guests. One of the worst service restaurants I have ever been to in my life. What a shame.

As always, Tao takes the dining experience to another level. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. Already looking forward to the next visit and a continued exploration of the many delicious menu items.
