                                  Tama has food plated that looks like you’re at Alinéa, Next, or Ever. It’s delicious, filling and approachable. The Chef is so creative! The octopus was the best I’ve ever had. Wow. Will be back for the 5th since opening.

                                  Chef Stapaki does a masterful job in this cozy Bucktown space. 1952 N. Damen has gone through several changes in the last couple years, and I hope this was the last and we see Tama here for many years to come. She manages to take Greek staples from Halsted Street and toss in a modern flair that rewrites expectations of Hellenic cuisine. Greek, and Mediterranean food more generally, have been having a moment in Chicago lately, and this might be the crowning jewel. The food was wonderful (yes, the hype around the avgolemono ramen is justified, and the inclusion of sweet strawberries in a hioriatiki salad completely changes the dish), and the drinks were as good as you would get anywhere else in the city, but she also manages to keep the place comfortable, welcoming, and intimate. The staff were engaging, and the prices get you out at around a $100 a person, even if you go to town on the menu, which is much better than you can expect at most places for the quality of the experience. A great spot.

                                  TAMA has become a favorite spot! So far everything I eaten is delicious but the sea bass crudo and the beef skewers are amazing!! The staff is so welcoming, a must try restaurant!
