Tailor is a restaurant that is named after Owner and Culinary Creator Vivek Surti's grandparents, all of whom were tailors by profession. We welcome you into our home for a dinner party, starting in the Living Room where you can arrive up to an hour before your seating to get settled with a beverage. Afterwards, you are guided through the Butler's Pantry to our Dining Room where you are seated for dinner to indulge in our tasting menu experience.

Our menu focuses on First Generation American cuisine. Vivek was born in Tennessee and his family comes from India. We strive to showcase the food he grew up with in the place that he calls home.

We are happy to accommodate most dietary restrictions, so long as they are communicated more than 24 hours ahead of the reservation date. This allows time for the culinary team to prepare a dinner with as much consideration as our standard tasting menu.

At Tailor Nashville, our winter menu is an intimate journey through warmth and nostalgia, reminiscent of a cozy gathering at a friend's home. From the moment you step through the door, you're embraced with heartfelt hospitality, personally guided to your table, and immediately offered a taste of our seasonal offerings.

Idada
Steamed Gujarati bread with rice and urad dal, served with black pepper and green chutney.
Thepli & Kadhi
Spicy Gujarati soup with cumin, turmeric, and ginger, paired with fried bread and sesame.
Sweet Potato Bhel
Indian street food-inspired sweet potato snack mixed with various chutneys and yogurt.
Sunchoke
Creamy, custardy sunchoke dish garnished with garlic pickle, fried chile, radish, lime, and sunflower sprouts.
Scallop Nimbu Saan
Uttarakhand-style scallops with yogurt and hemp seed chilantro, accompanied by winter citrus.
Amaroo Hills Farm Duck
Marinated duck breast with homemade paratha and aromatic duck confit biryani.
Winter Citrus Pie
Coconut barfi crust pie with citrus custard, complemented by citrus salad and white chocolate cremeux.
Chai & Nankathai
Home-brewed Gujarati chai paired with a family-recipe cookie, Nankathai.

One of my favorite dining experiences in recent memory. Everything about the process from booking to dessert was just perfect. Chef Vivek is incredibly kind and his love of food shows on the plate. Caitlin at the front was extremely accommodating and such a joy . The entire staff appear to really have a love for this place and I’m excited to try the next seasonal offering.
