Nestled in the Boerum Hill neighborhood, is the best sushi restaurant in Brooklyn, Taiki. Join us for an authentic Japanese sushi experience, with the majority of fish being imported straight from Japan. The head chef, Taiki Minamitani, boasts 18 years of experience as an Itamae (sushi chef). Our selection of wine, sake, signature cocktails, and beer is specifically selected to complement our traditional sushi menu and original kitchen menu. We went for dinner and 3 of us ordered the Omakase. The quality of the fish was great. It would have been a nice, chill evening were it not for the rudeness of our server. They were snobby, quick to interrupt and clear the table with food left on the dish. Seemed annoyed and condescending if we had any questions re the menu. It was a real drag. The restaurant is cozy and has the potential of a regular place to frequent but we all decided we won't be back so that kind of treatment.

Very interesting options of fishes for their sushi/sashimi, we enjoyed our experience overall! It was not too noisy as well so perfect for our small group gathering.

We got a last-minute reservation for a Saturday evening. Service was good, atmosphere was clean and simply decorated. We ordered two apps to share (grilled romaine and crab cakes) plus a roll, some sashimi, and the tasting menu of the seared trio. It was all so delicious. Definitely recommend.

We loved this restaurant! Great for when want elevated sushi but not obscene prices. They had great cocktails and the edamame was amazing. As was the Calimari. We did the omakase and it was truly great!

We went to Taiki for a date night. It was wonderful! We had omakase, it was wonderful. We loved everything! Our server Joaephine was excellent, she told us what to get and she was dead right. Loved our experience, look forward to going back again!

The Omasake happy hour is a great deal and all the food was delicious! Loved the space, they play great music and give you cucumber water. Plus the service was EXCELLENT! Great for a date, girls night or buiseness meal or just go sit at the bar with a book.

Very fresh sushi and a good selection on the menu of sushi and cocktails. The restaurant week menu was good but relatively small. The huge downside of the place was a very tight venue. The sushi bar was cramped, with uncomfortable chairs and too many patrons. The service was subpar considering how small the place was. No offer to take coats or coat racks despite the tiny space.

We’ve been to Taiki four times and it’s always outstanding. Both the sushi and the cooked dishes are well made and delicious. Staff knows all the fish and sake in detail and explains options clearly. Nice selection of Japanese and locally caught fish. Highly recommend.

Most importantly the food was really good but the value wasnt there, this place is way too expensive. The rolls are $14 and are the small six-piece ones you typically get for $6 at other sushi places. I have no problem paying more for good sushi but Taiki wasn't worth it, just too expensive and the value wasn't there. They were also understaffed for a Saturday night, our waiter did fine but he could have used the help, they also only had one sushi chef working which caused a long wait for orders. Won't be going back.

Watching Taiki (the sushi chef) in action is like watching an artist paint a painting. And his curated selection of fresh fish from around the world is to die for. No rainbow roles or other crazy combinations with sauces. Taiki is all about quality fresh fish with expert preparation. Oh and try their amazing saki.

As soon as we entered, we were welcomed by all. Our table for two was in the rear and very comfortable. The service staff brought our extremely tasty cocktails within a short time. The chef’s choice was delicious, a mix of fresh sushi. The grilled octopus special was enough for two. It is a small place so I would recommend reservations. Are we coming back? Absolutely!

The appetizers were great! We had crab cakes and calamari. But the sushi itself was underwhelming. The ambiance was great- beautiful space. Great service!
