My husband, our 2 daughters and I have enjoyed coming here for a few years. The food, ambience and our service is usually great. However, most recently, we had a reservation at 5:15pm, Saturday, March 16th and when my daughters and I arrived, we noticed that the lady who was seating/hostessing has a bit of a negative attitude. She didn’t say hi. She asked if we were part of a party and I didn’t understand her because she was mumbling. I asked her to repeat and then I said no that we were 4 under my name but my husband was parking. She sat us down. Our waiter was awesome! He was friendly and immediately took my kids’ orders. He was great. He even brought a few crayons for the girls because the hostess just sat us and walked away. A few minutes later my husband walked in and the same thing happened to him. He was behind a group talking to the hostess and when it was his turn, once again, she had an attitude. She didn’t say hi and kind of ignored him, so he called me on the phone to find our table and just walked away to the table. Again, the food and service during our meal was great. The food and drinks were very good and we had a great time. However, whoever the hostess was at that time, needs to learn better manners in greeting and talking to people as they come in. She had a bad attitude and should not be the first impression when patrons walk into the restaurant.

Absolute favorite spot! I took friends from out of town and it was their favorite meal while they visited NYC.

I had a Cadillac margarita and carnitas. both were very good. I thought the drinks were priced $4 too high, but I still had two. The service was terrific, as was the guacamole.

I usually go to Tacuba in Astoria for brunch, but I decided to go for dinner this time. I always have a great experience, and staff are great. However, this last visit I had a new waitress who may have been new. I ordered a pińa para la nińa cocktail and she told me that the drink was more of a woman’s drink; however, it was strong. It took me a second to realize what she said, and I think it was inappropriate to make such a comment. In this new generation, there shouldn’t be labels on what someone should drink based on sex. I really enjoy coming here, and will continue to do so but I think this was worth mentioning.

Tacuba was terrible. I decided to check this restaurant out seeing that I wanted Mexican food. So first off they did not honor my voucher. I arrived there on time at 3pm, that was the reservation time and I showed the hostess my voucher she said okay no problem. The waiter told me only drinks were included in my voucher, this is after I recieved 2 drinks (one for me and one for my friends). I said no there is also food included and showed my waiter my voucher again. The "manager" came over very rudely and said the bottomless drinks is over at 4p. I said we just recieved our first drink at 3:17p and the voucher is for 90mins, he said no its over at 4pm. My friend and I ended up paying for our drinks and left. Their customer service is deplorable. It took me an 1hr long journey to experience tacuba and was so very disappointed. I work in medical field and my colleagues and I are always looking for new places to cater our events or even just to go out for some good food. I'm glad they showed me how tasteless and poor their customer service and hospitality is, definitely will not be using them for any caterings as well tell my colleagues my experience. I tried tacovision in the the city about a month ago and they were excellent. Their bottomless brunch amazing.h I wasted time, money and energy coming to tacuba. I advised you guys to save your money and do not waste your money or time going to tacuba. I read the other negative reviews and still gave them a chance and they were terrible and very very diasappointing.

The food is always great. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Fantastic margaritas! Lovely and accommodating staff makes Tacuba a wonderful experience every time!
