Sweet Basil Bistro is Big Bear's original Italian Bistro, family owned and operated for more than 17 years. Located within walking distance of Big Bear's downtown Village, Sweet Basil Bistro offers lunch, dinner, wine, craft cocktails and more, in an intimate atmosphere. Join us for a date night or family celebration, or just treat yourself.

Our menu includes pastas with homemade sauces, salads, steaks, seafood dishes, appetizers, homemade desserts and so much more. All of our meals and sauces are prepared in house.

Sweet Basil never misses the mark. They were super busy and yet everything was perfect, service, food, drinks & friendly staff. Always save room for dessert!

Food was subpar this time. We ate there another time, and it was better. The grilled eggplant was disappointing as it was not cooked thoroughly & was on a bed of cut up spaghetti. Not your typical eggplant parmesan. The chicken alfredo was better, but not outstanding. They were super busy though , so I suggest going when they aren’t as busy and perhaps it will be a better experience for you.

Italian meatloaf, Caesar salad, martinis, and mushroom truffle pasta, all great! Book a reservation as locals are fond of this place - next to a bowling alley!!

Our dinners were delicious! The salad dressing (made fresh in house) was fantastic on the Antipasto Salad. Service was perfect, showing a great team effort.

Chose to celebrate Mother’s Day here. Even though it was a holiday, reservations were promptly honored, service excellent and food delicious. A wonderful celebration.
