Such a disappointment. We’ve enjoyed eating outside in the past. This time, we ate indoors. The fish did not taste fresh, the ambience is non-existent with fluorescent white lights, and it’s way overpriced. Will not be returning.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was great. And there wasn’t too many people dining in, so noise levels was perfect.

Very nice staff in a rather deli-like setting. The sushi was good quality with a good variety. My two lesser grades were to the avocados in an octopus ceviche -- tiny cubes nearly impossible to pick up with chopsticks; and "fresh" wasabi that looked more like a green salsa and not very tasty. Parking was a bit of a search since the block the restaurant sits on has been closed off to provide outside tables. When in the area in search of sushi, I'd definitely go back.

Best value for wa shoku in La Jolla. Perhaps half of San Diego's Japanese restaurants are owned /run by Korean-Americans. This is one of them - and they do an excellent job.

We enjoyed our entrees. We didn’t have any sushi but it looked good. It was a nice low key restaurant with great service, prices and lots of options.

It’s such a cute spot with great service. However, I must say I was a bit disappointed with the food. I opted for sushi selections, but unfortunately, the fish was not fresh at all. Given the prices, I expected better quality.

Tried this spot as we tried to find a new spot we both hadn’t been to. Nice location in La Jolla on the main drag. Took a minute to get a server but once did, service was pretty good. Knowledgeable and friendly. Food was good. I wouldn’t call it stellar but was good for the price. Was a cool waitress named Amy. Wasn’t ours but she was super cool. Overall works give a 7 out of 10 and may god back someday.
