Expected more from the disco theme (music very quiet in background) and overall decoration had a bit of disco glitter. The food however was really good and servers were attentive. I consider myself very critical of food so I dont understand the negative reviews I read about this place. Price is a little high for short amount of time spent.

Portions small. Place smelled fishy when you open the door and came in made me worry about the freshness of the fish. Sugar fish the restaurant nearby is much better in terms of quality, value. Portions are bigger and not much more in price. This place had a nice vibe in terms of music and surroundings.

Barely had time to sit down and was already being served food, the whole experience was 30 minute and we were actually kicked out…. Awful! Would not recommend

Host was incredibly rude and this was for my bday celebration. Used to love it here, not going back. The chefs were nice and made the experience a bit better. Host was awful.

Booked 60 mins and host gave us 30 mins. Did not award the reservation made per open table. Wasn’t very apologetic or accommodating about the mistake on their end.

The experience was good but what they don’t tell you is that each seating is only 30-45 minutes. We were 10 minutes late due to traffic and after 20 minutes we told that we had to pay and leave. It’s fun but don’t expect a proper dinner since it is so quick.

Tried other locations before. The fish seems to be better at the other locations and the size of each piece was smaller here than other locations. Overall not bad.

The experience was amazing. Tony, the front manager was so pleasant and welcoming. The chefs were wonderful and then there is a little lounge attached to sit for cocktails after dinner. The music was not loud and lovely. The only suggestion I have is that the music should be geared to the disco era/ ‘70’s music as the restaurant is ‘disco’ themed. Otherwise, a perfect evening in an intimate setting with warm, accommodating staff. That’s especially admirable in a newly opened restaurant (although I’m sure they do have the “Bou” formula to work with) **foot note. The restaurant is on 21st down a flight of stairs and not on Broadway. I’m not sure if this could be clarified on this site or the restaurant site. A couple of people in my party could not find it without help.

Food was excellent and service was nice. It did feel a very rushed experience (dined multiple times with sushi by bou and this one was by far the one that felt most rushed). The table before us was late, so we started dining at 9pm vs our reservation at 8:45, by 9:20 we had already been served the 12 courses.

Very unlike the other 3 locations I’ve frequented. Sloppy cuts and service. The chef was essentially tossing the sushi onto our plates, resulting in bits and pieces becoming misplaced or falling off. The whole experience was very rushed. Highly disappointing.

Great experience! Super helpful staff. We had trouble finding the enterance and the hostess came out side to find us. Sushi was extremly fresh and the experince of trying so many different types of sushi was amazing! Very satisfied wioth eveyrhitng and would definately suggest this place to anyone who enjoys sushi. Incredible sushi, great chef. However, servers may not have existed at all. Our waiter came 3 times the whole meal only when I spent minutes motioning to get her attention.

Chef last night was great (sorry, forgot his name). Hadn't been to the Flatiron location before but it's a great spot for groups or couples. Toro, Eel and Big Mac always my favorites. Will be back soon!

Extremely satisfied with Chef Alex at this location! Loved that we went when it wasn’t packed so our experience was more personal and enjoyable. Every single piece was made beautifully and tasted absolutely exquisite. We even got some sake and an extra piece on the house! Chef’s attention to detail is phenomenal. I'm not sure if we had a bad chef but we've been to Sushi by Bou before and it was great (in Nomad) but this time we really didn't have a good experience. We're not usually reviewers but it was worthy enough to write about - felt like either portions were weird or something just tasted off about some of the pieces.

Previous time was superb, delicious sushi made with great care and precision. This time it was more sloppy pieces, made quickly and served too fast (before previous piece was off plate), and with a mumbled announcement if what it was, instead of the attentive explanation of the last time we came (when it was a different chef). Food still good, but not excellent, as it was the last time.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Service is excellent. But be warned this is Omakase only. The fish is excellent but pieces are very thin and not enough of it when spending this much money per person.

The rice was very chewy and even when we asked for less rice there was still a lot on it. It was also only a 30 minute table sitting rather than an hour which I have never experienced and it felt very rushed. The actual fish was phenomenal though
