Having been to ~6 different Michelin starred omakase seating in NYC over the past five years, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It’s essentially a chain, but they do it right with a small 10 person counter doing standard omakase. The chef was skilled and took into account multiple diners allergies and idiosyncrasies. Fish was generally very fresh, cut well, scored when appropriate, and the chef would adjust if you wanted more or less of certain flavors. An hour for 12 pieces is fine, I didn’t feel rushed at all, plus the vibe is great. My single complaint is that the uni was just ok, a bit of an aftertaste. But at $60 for 12 pieces I can’t really complain about mid grade uni, it’s still totally worth it. I’ll be back.

Amazing food, service, and overall experience. The fish was so fresh and each piece was delicious. They accommodated my dietary restrictions and substituted each piece for something I could eat. 10/10 will definitely return!

It has been the best experience of my life! Especially with my daughter, whom we celebrated her birthday. IMAX was the best! He made us feel so comfortable and relax! We went in New York, but looking forward to try it in Puerto Rico. ¡Gracias!

Amazing experience, as always. Tucked behind a coffee shop, this is one of the most fun and unique omakase experiences i've ever had. Will definitely be coming back, time and time again.

What a waste of money and time. I was shocked after yearning for going to this place about how absolutely garbage the venue is and how quickly they want to monetize patrons. Come in have a drink eat and GTFO. Do not go here under any circumstance please use your brain if you think you should take ur significant other here. You will regret it for the rest of your life as do I. The best part is I get 100 points on opentable for this reservation whoop a dido!

By far the best omakase experience I’ve had in NYC. I went with my partner to celebrate our anniversary and we do omakase a lot since it’s our favorite. This place blew our mind — you have to do the bougie omakase at the counter — SO AMAZING. The ambiance, staff, quality of food and chef was truly outstanding and so affordable. I’ll be a regular here and can’t wait to be back soon.

Great overall dining experience. Since there is a sushi chef for every 4 guests, you can ask questions and engage in conversation thoughout the omakase meal.

Cant go wrong here. Both chefs are amazing and IMAX the manager and Adrian the bartender are incredibly friendly with great service. Best omakase experience in Manhattan!

Had an absolutely fabulous time at Sushi by Bou. The sushi was out-of-this-world, the environment sophisticated and chic. Everything was flawless for a birthday dinner. Highly recommend! Oh, and loved the maître d behind the counter at the "dry cleaner" entry.

Perfect omakase experience. Chic and cozy little spot that is hidden behind the back door of a florist shop like the speakeasies of old. GREAT cocktails and creative presentation per piece. Very impressed by the customer service as well. Will be back!

The food was really good for the price, and the chef's service was pleasant. The server's service was okay, nothing extraordinary, just normal. However, when I left a 20% tip, the server's reaction clearly showed he wasn't satisfied. He didn't even say goodbye when I left. Overall, it was a good experience, except for that last part.

Wow, the food here is absolutely incredible! The flavors are out of this world, and I can't get enough of it. The service is top-notch too, they really know how to take care of their customers. And let's not forget about the ambience, it's so beautiful and inviting. This place has got it all!

Came here with my husband for my birthday and we were treated like kings and queens! The chefs were amazing, and the food speaks for itself but more so the staff was incredible and super professional. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a cozy, different night out!

A very unique experience. The 12 course Omakase menu was tasty, and very unique flavors My favorite was the yellowtail and the cod. Cocktails were made to perfections as well and sake was excellent too. The chef explains every Course and intersects with to make it a more enjoyable experience

The place is beautiful, and ambience is top-notch. The drinks were lovely and yet for some reason unreasonably overpriced. The food was not better than Fushimi. It was very OK. Quite strictly OK. The chef who served us was outstanding. In conclusion although I don’t regret the experience, I felt an air of being rushed out and the $180 price tag could’ve easily been 100

I'm sure this is in other reviews, but it is a hidden gem. Finding Sushi by Bou was half the fun! The experience, from beginning to end, was absolutely phenomenal. For first-timers: Don't assume that the nice lady by the computer with the credit card reader who checks your reservation and opens the "hidden door" for you will be the person you settle up with. See your in-room host for that.

Sushi By Bou is always a great choice for a fun omakase in NYC. Didn't realize that they all had the same menu, regardless of the location you selected. Still, we had a blast.

I honestly NEVER write reviews but this was so so sensational! I had such a great experience - the sushi itself was delicious and the staff was so sweet (and funny)! Made a special piece at the end based off what I noted in the reservation. It was a really warm vibe and I would highly recommend :)

This is a super fun Omakase experience. The staff is very friendly and the sushi chefs are fantastic. The sushi itself was excellent. The drink menu is tasty as well. Great date spot.

It was a pleasant experience. The concept of the restaurant is very Japanese, where you seat at the bar and develop a relationship with the chef that is preparing your food. We loved the food, the ambiance, the service. We will comeback.
