Chef Susanna and her husband Ben operate Susanna's Comfort Cuisine Bistro and Bar in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs. We offer several Italian dishes but also a variety of Mediterranean and stir fry dishes, plus hand-made pizzas and our Filet Mignon steak. And on Sunday morning we offer an exciting brunch menu complete with a variety of hand-crafted cocktails.

Run, do not walk, to enjoy Susanna’s comfort cuisine. It will become your comfort cuisine also! Please support a local business by a lovely couple - especially one that has so much dedication and love and flavor! Like most reviewers have said the food is so delicious actually probably one of the best I’ve had in all of Colorado. From beginning with the cocktails made by the master to the finishing dessert you will have the meal of a lifetime. Why settle for some thing from a chain or fast food when you can have delicious made to order , homestyle cooking? And a warm cozy environment to enjoy your loved ones over a meal. A top chef experience for sure.

Family owned and operated restaurant. Husband greeted me, “Are you Franklin?” Definitely felt great as if they were expecting me (I had a reservation of course). Server was young (maybe the daughter of the owners). She came back multiple times to ask if everything was to my liking. Very sweet. The chef/wife came into the dining room a couple times to greet people and just check on things. The atmosphere was lacking but comfortable. The plating was a bit different (my cup of soup came out in an oversized bowl of sorts making my dish look small/not enough). However the taste was exceptional! Had the green chili pork soup, chicken thigh, and lasagna. All tasted amazing! Water and iced tea were never empty and the husband always treated me like I was a VIP. While the menu is not entirely Italian, I’d go back in a heartbeat. A def must try for those stopping by and want to eat local/homemade.

My pasta was great. My husband's filet was way too rare. He sent it back, and it came back still too rare to eat.

We went Sunday around 11 on a cold dreary day. Started off with an Irish Coffee that had almond whipped cream on top. Delicious. All food was good. Even the little slivers of potatoes that I thought would be dry but they weren't at all. Croissant was Delicious base for breakfast sandwich. Met the husband and wife owners. Very kind and attentive. Definitely want to go back for either lunch or dinner. Definitely recommend.

We stumbled across this amazing restaurant bc it was close to our hotel. During our weekend stay, we ate there TWICE bc it was so wonderful. Everything is made to order, the flavors are absolutely perfect, and the owner/chef is completely involved. I am already craving her fantastic green chile stew. Every single thing we ordered was delicious. We did a Thursday night dinner, and Sunday brunch. We are total foodies, and I would say this is our favorite restaurant in Colorado Springs so far.
