Add some real spice to your life! Superior Grill has been rated consistently as one of Louisiana’s best Mexican restaurants since 1983 when our first establishment opened in Shreveport. Our New Orleans location opened in 1997 and has become a landmark in fine quality foods with a festive Mexican atmosphere. Superior’s authentic Tex-Mex food is made from scratch every day with only the freshest ingredients. Our tortillas are hand-rolled with care all day long. For added flavor, all of our meats are cooked over a mesquite grill. We are proud of what we make and how we prepare it. Superior Grill is “the place to be” for happy hour, birthdays, office parties, and large groups. In addition to our festive indoor dining room, we offer a memorable outdoor dining experience on our landscaped patio featuring beautiful flowers and one of the best views of St. Charles Avenue. Ideal location for Mother’s Day celebration with three generations. The menu has something for everyone plus some MD specials. Prompt service. Good food. Good prices. Happy day! And glad they take reservations. We were seated right on time. Our table had the surf n turf special, salads, burger with bread & meat only, a brunch waffle, fresh guacamole.

Very disappointed in our meal. The Margarita and guacamole were excellent, but the food was nothing but melted cheese on a plate. I had the El Paso Plate and the tamale was so dry, it was hard to choke down. The enchiladas (chicken & cheese) were hard to identify under the huge amount of melted cheese on top of them. The Chile relleno was not a stuffed poblano pepper, just nearly a slice of one in between melted cheese. None of it even looked appetizing! Too bad. Years ago, it used to be good.....

Get the ribs but have them dry (sauce on the side). Have the key lime pie (enjoy the lime zest). Enjoy the private barrel Margarita! 2PM on a Sunday and the crowd was medium, noise level light, and with beautiful weather, the street cars glided by to make for a wonderful afternoon.

I’ve been here a dozen times and this experience was horrible. Cold food, drinks ordered that never came, and an inattentive server. They then didn’t register me as arriving through OpenTable and I didn’t get my points. I’m hoping it was a fluke but I’ve loved Superior for ages!

The drinks were a little small and the restrooms were in horrible condition for a restaurant of this calaber ( only 2 of the stalls had any toilet paper and the soap supply was minimal ).

The service was generally slow and lacking in details. For instance we had to ask for silverware when our food arrived. The food is excellent, but a bit overpriced for what it is.

Everything was wonderful! The service was great, food came out in less than 30 minutes (which was great) & the margaritas, as always, were THE BEST. The bathroom situation was a bit of the pain but literally the least of our worries. We will definitely be returning!

Reversation was for 5 people. When we arrived one of our guest could not attend. The hostess got mad when she tried to seat us in a booth in the back of the restaurants and we requested a table. I gave her a birthday cake and asked her to tell our server about the cake. At the end of our meal I asked the server (tall white male w/ a beard) to bring the cake. He said he didn’t know we had a cake! The waiter was excellent! We visit Superior on an average of one to two times a month.

We have never been disappointed dining here. I am hoping this was an off night. The cheese on the steak nachos was burnt. The chips with the nachos were a cross between hard and stale. The cheese on top of the enchiladas and quesadillas wasn’t melted. It was like the food had been sitting there for a while. Our server never came back to check on us. When the food was brought out we had to ask for refills. We never saw our server again until she asked if we needed boxes and the check.

Had dinner with my wife at Superior Grill yesterday evening. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and the service was outstanding. If you're looking for Mexican food in New Orleans, you will be hard-pressed to find anything compared to Texas or Mexico, but Superior Grill hit the mark. The beer was ice cold, and my wife's drink was excellent. I didn't give a 5 on food only because I didn't care for one of the appetizers, but everything else was great. Give Superior Grill a try.

We love the food, atmosphere, and location. We’ve been there several times, but it was a few years ago. We were actually a little disappointed with the prices. I realize it is inflation, but for a Mexican restaurant, the prices were very high.

We arrived and were immediately sat at our table. Coffee and water was flowing. We had breakfast. The Chicken and waffles were great, a generous portion. The scrambled eggs and fresh fruit were delicious. Breakfast burrito was huge and delicious. We all enjoyed our breakfast and the service was very good.

Pretty disappointing when salmon can not be cooked throughly and the wait staff does not think it’s significant to apologize or notify management. Food was and at best. Great atmosphere.
