Sunda New Asian is an award-winning restaurant at the vanguard of America’s New Asian movement showcasing Eastern Asian and Southeast Asian regional cuisine. Simple, flavorful dishes are served and shared while a full sushi bar provides an assortment of sushi, sashimi and nigiri options. By seamlessly melding many of the cooking techniques and flavors found throughout the entirety of Asia, Sunda creates a menu that allows customers to choose the dining experience they desire. My friend and I were visiting Nashville for the weekend and booked this spot for our last dinner! It did not disappoint — we ordered the two vegan sushi rolls and they were very tasty and filling. They also offer two of their cocktails as mocktails if you ask, and they were delicious and reasonably priced. The service and ambiance was excellent.

It took over 25 minutes for our spicy edamame to come and that was only after flagging down a manager. A bartender was our server but between him and one other bartender they had a full bar, service well and 4 tables. He was doing what he could but they should’ve had more staff. Overall, it wasn’t great for our first time visiting.

Couldn’t pick a better place to take my parents for dinner!! We have tons of food allergies (gluten, nuts, diary, shellfish). To be able to get amazing Asian food with so many allergies was so great! Service was amazing and I would definitely recommend a visit!!

Our apartment in Nashville was within walking distance to Sunda. We were interested in sushi for the night. It was a great choice! Kevin our waiter was spot on with his recommendations and overall explaining how the food would come out for us. We loved everything we ordered, Crunchy Surf & Turf Roll, Red Dragon Roll, Lobster Wagyu Roll, Yellowtail jalapeno appetizer, and the Crazy Rice. I gave Kevin "50" candles for my husband's birthday to surprise him and he brought out a coconut cheesecake... which was amazing. Also our drinks were delicious too. Highly recommend. Yes it is pricey, but worth the splurge for a special occasion.

I had an appointment for 7:15. The hostess looked at me and asked me what I needed, then proceeded to see someone else who walked in after me who did not have a reservation. Once seated, we waited at least 20 minutes for drink orders and another 40 minutes before someone took our food order. The food was good, but not amazing. However, the protracted service time made it all unbearable.
