Enjoy unapologetically authentic Thai food in the East End. All food is made from scratch by native Thai chef and James Beard Award winner for Best Chef: Texas Benchawan Jabthong Painter.

Chef Benchawan and her husband—who also spend time in their Bangkok home each year—have painstakingly built out a restaurant that would fit into Bangkok’s hip Thong Lor neighborhood, but they have located it in Houston. Expect trendy Thai vibes, music, strong cocktails and an adventurous wine list to accompany Chef Benchawan’s acclaimed dishes.

The largest party Street to Kitchen can accommodate is 6 people. If more than 6, you can arrange a private Thai tasting menu, including a minimum spend. please contact us via email at eatthai@streettokitchen.org Thai tasting menus can also be made available for smaller parties if confirmed at least one week before via the same email.

    I am really sorry to put a complaint. The food is good hence we keep coming back but it is expensive for what you get. My issue is the extorsionate 22% service charge automatically added which if you are not careful and don’t see can become 42% if you carelessly add another 20% at check out. You get sold that the 22% is shared between all staff and the extra “tip” is for your server. There are other very good Thai restaurants in Houston for half the price and half the outrageous charges. $70/person is a bit stiff for a salad, bit of chicken and rice.

    The best Thai food in Texas. Their food is very authentic Thai style. Every dish is fantastic. The Thai tea is very good.

    Some of the best food in the city. Tables are a little tight though. You can really hear the conversations around you too much but it wasnt a huge deal. Would recommend this place to anyone that likes spicy food.

    The team was great and went above and beyond to accommodate us despite the later arrival. The food was amazing. This is one of my favorite places in Houston.

    Had some really great items and enjoyed for the most part! Would have enjoyed it more if the spice level on a few items was just a notch lower (we ordered Mild). I’m saying this knowing they make things spicy - but let’s be honest - when something is written as Mild, and comes out as Medium or more, it’s not Mild.

    The best papaya salad I have ever tasted - and I am a papaya salad fan and have it whenever I can . I loved the spice level of medium ( yes it’s for people who can handle spicy food :)) The Pad Thai was amazing too in its own right and the perfectly charred jumbo shrimps were a great addition. The green curry had a lovely subtle flavor . Mangoes were perfect in the dessert. Can’t wait to go back and try the daily specials
