Sonya Cote, the James Beard Foundation WEL alum and Texas chef known for Eden East, now adds Store House Market & Eatery in downtown Bastrop to her portfolio.  A proponent for local purveyors and a pioneer of using locally-grown ingredients for both nutritional and environmental purposes, Cote transformed a nearly 175-year-old, historic two-building property at the corner of Main and Pine into a seasonally-driven restaurant and market that will showcase the local area’s bounty. The a la carte menu features rotating mains and sides, using ingredients sourced from Eden East Farm and other Bastrop producers.

                                Best meal I've had in a year! The salad with pine dressing was fantastic. Delicious complex flavors! Biscuits and jelly also phenomenal.

                                What a find. Travelled to Bastrop for Yesterfest and searched for a breakfast spot. Jackpot! The food is exceptionally fresh and flavorful. We both had the Big Breakfast with a side of bacon. The hash is like nothing you’ve had before… flavorful and delicious. Had to try the bacon cheddar biscuit. It’s served with an herb butter and a fruit jam. Everything was amazing. Latoya, our server was as nice as could be! Forget everything else about Bastrop if you must, but remember this beautiful spot. Can’t wait to come back for dinner.

                                We were greeted by Dozens of flies when we were seated, and it was nearly unbearable. We were provided a fly swatter that stayed on the table and the whole fly swatting ruined the ambience. Food took very long to be delivered, several items were not correct once they finally arrived, and the coffee that was ordered was never actually ready after more than an hour. Most of the food-especially the eggs-were way over salted to the point of almost being inedible. The ingredients seemed fresh and high quality, but it was an overall disappointing experience.

                                What a wonderful surprise. The small menu was elegant and everything we ordered was fresh and wonderful. Having their own farm brought the best salads to the table, as well. It was a rainy night and the staff was very good at trying to accommodate those with patio reservations at tables inside. Nice compact wine list and the service was knowledgeable with her vineyard and vintage descriptions. We had a great time wine will return soon.

                                Absolutely terrific experience! This was our fourth or fifth meal at Storehouse and our first brunch. Every meal has been excellent but the brunch was outstanding. Food was the perfect portion size and everything was delicious. Loved the live music and our waitress, Dahlia, was delightful. Will definitely be back!

                                Store House is the best! Their food is fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Great wine list and cocktails, too. I love sitting on the patio. It's relaxing, beautiful, and elegant without being fussy. A great menu for vegetarians, carnivores, and gluten-free eaters alike. And they usually have a good soundtrack playing.
