Our server was excellent and they sat our group of 6 in a nice separate room which was perfect for the 2 kids. The pizza and broccoli salad was excellent but the pasta carbonara was not to our liking. The odd thing was that they brought out an ice cream for the birthday guy which we did not order, and charged us for it. Most restaurants bring a little dessert out for a birthday but don’t charge for it especially when it was not ordered.

We came for my husband’s birthday and this place did not disappoint in any way! Food and drinks were great! Service was spectacular! And ambiance was incredible! 10/10 would recommend and look forward to visiting again soon!

Wow just wow. Incredible food and drinks, friendly service, cool ambiance. I can’t wait to go back next time I am in Monterey.

The food was absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere was great for a nice birthday dinner. Glad the waiter who personally didn't like mushrooms didn't dissuade us from getting the mushroom pizza as it was fantastic! They also did a great job of pairing wines with our dishes.

This restaurant is worth a trip just for the history alone. The upstairs dining room is wonderful with a great old world charm. It is rumored to be haunted by the ghosts of James Stokes and his wife Josefa. It is also believed that the ghost of the last owner in 1948 Hattie Gragg also haunts the building. We did not see anything but with a lovely meal, wine, and great service it made for a fun night. The outdoor patio looked great with firepits and heaters.

Great food and service in a historic setting. Our server and sommelier were very friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding. Historic restaurant building is beautiful and the area of Monterey it is in is super nice. Overall, a great experience. We will be back!

This is a wonderful and quaint restaurant in an old historic home. Perfect getaway from the Row… some nice local wines worth trying too.

Beautiful adobe setting, cozy restaurant! Loved my cosmo! The waiter was very friendly and shared a story about James Stokes. Would definitely dine here again when in Monterey!
