Good Jamaican is hard to find in LA, Status offers an upscale experience for home cooked Jamaican cuisine. Portions sizes were generous and were served beautifully. The sauces on the oxtail and brown stew were sweeter than I expected, but delicious. We also tried the jerk wings, nicely done, the Honey/Jerk Lamb, creative and nice, and the Curry Goat, bold and savory! The only thing I would do differently is lower the music, I felt like I was in a club and we ended yelling to hold conversation. We will go back and tell our friends!

Love the food, chef and the vibe. It’s one of the best elevated Jamaican restaurants that I’ve been to in a while. I’m Jamaican and it’s hard to find.

Food was awesome, like top tier best food I've ever had, seems like the restraunt just opened and they're figuring things out however i dont think thats the case. Wait time was 1.5hr for our food and the experience was a little disappointing. However the food was so good I'd go back again for take out any day.

The food is good, the ambiance and decor was bland, no alcoholic drinks, music was loud, the food is a bit over priced, server was not very attentive. Giving 3 stars because the food, presentation/plating is good.

The food was amazing, I had the oxtails and it was so good. The salmon was also amazing. The music was great, but my only complaint is that they do not serve alcohol. Alcoholic beverages would be a great addition to my meal.
