I like the fact that they are green. We sat too close to the kitchen even with a reservation. I enjoyed the sweet potato fries more than the catfish sandwich. The mimosa was mostly champagne like they didn’t have orange juice. The pulled pork and pimento cheese was good!

We love coming to State & Allen! It is clean, polite, friendly and the food is so delicious. The staff is outstanding especially Nick. We always look forward to going there.

Everything was very nice. Only thing was i asked the waitress did they do complimentary dessert for birthdays she said yes but when the bill came we were still charged. I didn’t make a fuss i just paid. I’m not sure if there was confusion or something so no big deal

Went for Brunch-this place was listed as one of the 15 best brunch places …. It was average. Overall the food was ok but not deserving of being on a 15 Best list. We had chicken and waffles … it was average We also had their SA Benedict… it was just ok The SA Omelet was actually really good. Don’t bother with the bloody Mary’s … it’s just Zing Zang and vodka… nothing special Service was good - cool place maybe better for an afternoon lunch.

I recommend State and Allen if you are looking for a good meal with a super chill laif back environment. It is def more of a bar scene and great place to catch a game solo or with friends. We ordered the Cesar salad and lamb meatballs as starters, both were great. For entrees we ordered the Beef Tips and Roasted Salmom with ginger rice. Both emtrees were delicious but the beed tips stole the show. The service is where they could use a bit of improvement. Our waiter was honest that he was tired and ready to leave in the beginnimg so we knew that our experience would not be over the top but he genuinely put forth effort to push through so we were honestly ok and were understanding.

Very attractive gal Manager was cheerful and courteous. Alexis, our server, was very polite and thoughtful in dealing with my husband and birthday boy of 86.. We always win the prize for the oldest or most seasoned couple there.. we love it and the atmosphere..!!! The slender runner has been there a long time . I thanked him for his service..

It was WAY too cold! The big garage doors were open at 5:45 and even the servers were saying they were surprised they were open.

We selected a new place to try for brunch, the atmosphere was nice and a decent selection of brunch items from the menu. However, our waiter was not attentive and took an extended amount of time to return with requested items/condiments after food was delivered. We realize each person may have a bad day while on their jobs, and I hope that was the case here. We did not tip reflective of the service because we hope it was an exception and not the rule.

Service was poor. The server was hardly at our table, couldn't find him when we needed him. Food was way overcooked and needed to be sent back. Didn't receive a drink that we had ordered yet were still charged. Would not go back.

I called ahead to ensure S&A would show the Big 12 Championship game. However, when we arrived and sat we discovered the game was blacked out on DirectTV. Although disappointing, nowadays I could watch anything on my phone. Nevertheless, I proposed I sign onto my subscription of YouTube TV on their smart tv. The bar manager refused but when escalated I was given the green light. I wish more bars would allow it. Anyway, great food and excellent customer service!

I am so glad we picked this place for Sunday brunch! There were six of us, we were able to make a reservation ahead of time, and got a text notification that our table was ready early, which was great. Everyone’s food was fantastic. Whatever you do, order the pulled pork huevos rancheros! To die for. My only regret is that I could not eat at all. I read a few comments in the reviews about the noise level so I was a little worried about that. But our table was outside, and was perfectly fine. Definitely loud music inside, and some of it bled through the open door, which was right next to us, but it was really fine.

This is a cute and quaint diner like eatery in a residential community. The service from our server Hunter was awesome. We had a party of 4 and were very eager to try this menu! My cousin had the crab cakes and eggs and was not pleased. I had the pancakes and eggs with some sausage. It was decent. And my other two guests had the shrimp and grits which got a 3 out of 5 stars and the chicken and waffles which were also the same. But overall, I would recommend this place for brunch. They had football on the monitors if you happen to be a fan which was nice. We had a great time!!!!

Only complaint, if I have to write one, is that it's too loud. The patio seating is terrific, especially on these beautiful days we're having and it was still hard to hear my friends because of the noise coming from the bar. The service is great. I commend their hard work, even with all the people they had to serve. Everything we tasted was delicious.

Very good service. I ordered the crab cakes and eggs - have had better crab cakes but liked the dish overall. There were 5 of us and everyone was happy with what they ordered. Nice restaurant for brunch .

We had reservations for 6:45 on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly, and our waiter acknowledged us within a reasonable amount of time. We wanted to watch a different football game on the TV, but others had requested ahead of us, so we were unable to watch. The orders were taken after a bit of time, and we had our drinks, but the wait time between when the orders were given, and the food was delivered was over 30 minutes. So, in effect, our drinks were finished before the food came. I don't know if this was a waiter issue, or a kitchen issue, but it was disappointing. The food was very good, and had it not been for the slow service, I would consider coming back. Otherwise, they get high marks for good food.

Always such a good time here with friends! Very budget friendly. I personally prefer going for brunch opposed to lunch / dinner.

Great food nice vibe, we enjoyed it! We had brunch very tasty French toast, mimosas, steak and eggs the crqb cakes were a little different but not bad.

Went for a birthday brunch. It was tight spaces, limited menu, and due to the crowd the server wasn't as attentive as he could be.
