A modern cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of Detroit. Standby's beverage program uses innovative techniques to bring new flavors and experiences to the glass while honoring and paying homage to the classics. Standby’s equally dynamic food menu features reimagined bar food from scratch with dishes such as; Coconut Calamari with fermented chili and pineapple marmalade and Thai Pork Skewers with peanut sauce, fried shallot, and pok-pok pickles. Sunday happy hour was great, so were the drinks and food. Very happy with my experience and I will be back more regularly.

This was my third visit the drinks are always great, but it was my first time trying the food and I really enjoyed everything I tried.

We started with amazing cocktails, and moved on to appetizers and dinner which were both fantastic. We ended with the vegan ice cream dessert on our server's recommendation and she nailed it. It's a small place with great staff, great drinks, and great food. Highly recommended.

Now that I’m a regular…I feel as if I am disregarded when I come in. The workers talk to one another and the bartenders have prolonged conversations with other patrons…as it seems that my time is not valued as much. The butter for the focaccia was a bit salty tasting for my palate as well.

Standby was a great find and experience. Drinks and food were all outstanding and our waitress, Brandy, was an absolute pleasure! She made some great drink recommendations and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely visit again when in town

The service and food was amazing. If you go ask for MP. She was awesome! The food is great but the entree portion was small for the chicken. Overall great experience though and I cant wait to go back!

Brandy perfectly paired our cocktail selections with our meals. The focaccia with Bloody Mary butter is divine!

We went with a large group and honestly I just don’t think the space is made for that. The service forgot half of our orders and really just seemed annoyed by our presence. This spot is much better couples or smaller groups.
