Enjoyed the cauliflower wings, the risotto, and the Forbidden Summer (blackened tofu base). Very tasty. Excellent cocktails too. We’ll be back.

Penne was not hot, in fact I’d say not even lukewarm. The risotto seemed undercooked to us. Second time here, the first time was outstanding though, disappointed in the second visit.

Our server was not very attentive and seemed annoyed with a slight change, as she hadn't asked while taking our order.

This quaint little spot in Winnetka is a gem. You do NOT need to be vegan to live this food. The price is right, too. So come on down.

When this first opened, it was literally my favorite restaurant as I am vegetarian and could eat anything there. The food was exceptional at that time. The last couple times I have gone I’ve been quite underwhelmed and disappointed. The food has a little flavor and when I asked for, some relish or something to add flavor to my meal I was charged additional. I hope that whatever has changed reverts back.

They changed their menu and it's not as good as it used to be. They must have a new chef. The food was just mediocre and was too expensive. Nice place though.

Although we have eaten at the restaurant several times before we had one of the worst dining experiences last night. We arrived for dinner early (5:00) and the restaurant was mostly empty. We placed our order, received our drinks and appetizer and then proceeded to wait and wait for our entrees. In the meantime, more diners came, placed their orders, and received their food. We waited almost an hour. The server apologized but had no explanation for our missing food. We spoke to a manager who seemed to care very little about our situation. He said something about having a missing ingredient. Were they going to run to grocery store? Why didn’t they just tell us we needed to order something else? After 65 minutes and almost everyone else in dining room who came 30-45 minute after us were eating, we gave up. The restaurant didn’t care. They didn’t ask us to hold on or promise our food, they just said, “sorry” and let us leave. What restaurant who cares about their reputation or customers does that?

The atmosphere—so many plants with a soothing and artful interior—and service were lovely. The food, for the most part, was also amazing. The cauliflower appetizer, the burgers, fries, Pad Thai, and appetizer wraps were delish, as were the creative cocktails.

Everything was fantastic however I ordered a salad with dressing on the side and they charged me to have the dressing put on the side. I did not argue. It was only a dollar but still not something I would look forward to happening if I choose to visit again.

My wife and I are not vegans. That said, this is now one of our favorite restaurants. The food is amazing! Pad Thai, meatless meatloaf (it WILL fool you), cauliflower wings. So good. Check out the brand new menu, just out this week. Great happy hour, too.

Had the opportunity to try some of Spirit Elephant's newest menu items. Appreciative of their efforts to continue to innovate and provide different choices while keeping some of the favorites. The cocktails are always creative and tasty! The attentiveness of the waitperson overall and to our food allergies, checking every item we ordered, helped make us feel comfortable dining at Spirit Elephant! I highly recommend eating at this restaurant!

I had the BLT with mushroom soup (lunch special). The soup was pureed mushrooms which didn't look wonderful but tasted great. The bacon in the BLT was excellent. Altogether, a satisfying meal...with BACON! (kinda)

Brussel Sprout appetizer was amazing and flavorful and came with an enjoyable kick. The Pad Thai was super tasty. Restaurant was hopping on Friday night. Super fresh ingredients!!!!

Great food but like many other restaurants portions are getting smaller and prices higher. A little concerning with a vegetarian establishment as your meal does not keep you full for that long. Might need a snack before your evening is over :)

Love dining at Spirit Elephant. Love that there is an elevated option for vegans. The menu is 100% plant based and beyond delicious. The menu is also seasonal, so changes with the season, which keeps it exciting. There is a reason to come back to try new dishes. Their staples are amazing too. The the decor, ambience and the food. Definitely recommend dining here.

Honestly, we used to come up all the time pretty often to visit spirit, the food however was very different and the taste was lacking. The prices have continued to increase and the lack of quality of food has only gradually decreased overtime. We were there for my partners birthday and it just really wasn’t worth it. The food was very bland and portions were extremely small for the price. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the food and no one came by to check or do a table visit, so, we let it go. We had other engagements to make and while we wanted to celebrate, it just overall became not worth it. Wish we could’ve spoken to a manager because truly it was not a good experience. I don’t think any of our group or other friends will come back.

As a dedicated carnivore, I had my doubts about going to a vegan restaurant. Pleasantly surprised. Clever and inventive, you don’t realize you’re eating vegan food. So why go? Because it is really tasty food. So whether you’re a vegan or not, I recommend this spot.
