Tasty and unique option for both drinks and food. Loved the cozy nook downstairs by the fireplace. Definitely a gem in the South End.

This is a nice cozy spot with a great menu. Fun drinks list and wines, good variety and a few good vegetarian options. We’ve been here three or four times and if in the south end soon will be there again for sure.

I love eating here whenever I can. The food and service are always superb! I was surprisingly upgraded from a bar seat to a table since I was dining alone and wouldn’t be staying long. My waitress was warm & accommodating, subbing out my drink choice when I disliked the first one I ordered. Lovely Sunday brunch!

South end buttery has some of the best french fries I have had in recent years. The ambience is intimate and the service is always responsive. In addition to a good quality meal, and their desserts are wonderful too.

Last time I was here, in October, it was lovely. Delicious roast chicken, salad and wine. This time I had salmon that I would never order again, with greasy quinoa and asparagus, and strangely-flavored toppings. My dining companion received the wrong salad, so we waited for the right one to appear. There was no compensation in the bill.

Dined here for a double birthday and Easter celebration. The atmosphere was cozy and quiet as there were only 2 other tables of diners. Eclectic music selection which was fun. Food was amazing (Steak Frites, Calamari, Focaccia, Meatloaf). The service as very attentive without hovering. After dinner birthday cupcakes were brought to the table with relighting candles which was amusing to all. We did not have to ask for the cupcakes, I had only put it in the reservation comments so it was a nice surprise. We will definitely dine here again!

The food and service were indeed excellent, but as a Boston local, the high prices were a major deterrent. Paying $11 for a cupcake and almost $30 per person for breakfast is quite steep, making it the most expensive breakfast I’ve encountered in quite sometime. Unfortunately, due to the pricing, I’m unlikely to return.

Really good dinner here with friendly service! Atmosphere is really cozy and cute, perfect for a cold or rainy day. Find out boston menu was amazing value but regular menu pricing is also super fair for a spot in the South End.

Very good food! Fresh and delicious. Waitress was extremely nice but overall service was very slow. The atmosphere was nice. Not much room between each customer and tables are small, that didn’t bother us but I know some would not like it. Will definitely return!

I needed to feed 5 adults- 3 of whom are hard of hearing and one of whom is gluten free- on a Saturday. We have a budget and the seniors can't walk far or over wonky sidewalks. This place checked every box and the food was perfect!

I dined at the South End Buttery last night with my husband and was thoroughly impressed with the experience from start to finish. The ambiance was inviting and cozy, perfect for a fun evening out. Our waiter Richard was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of our meal was enjoyable. As for the food, the Fish & Chips were delicous and cooked to perfection, as were the fries:) We both had margaritas that were perfect to enjoy with our meal! Will definitely go back soon!

I want to love this place. It’s right in my neighborhood and it’s adorable. Somehow I always leave disappointed. The wait staff is barely ok (slightly gruff and seem annoyed) and food is delivered without removing plates already on table. Almost raw excessive amount of garlic on the brussel sprouts. Ordered Greek salad with salmon cooked very rare. Salmon arrived cooked all the way through. Salad was really uninspiring. I sooo want to love you, but I’m always disappointed.

Went on recommendation from a local for weekday brunch. We started with the ricotta fritters. They were good but more like donut holes than typical fritters. I ordered eggs benedict with ham and cheddar. Eggs were done perfectly. My wife ordered the Big Bowl fruit and granola with a side of sausage. It was excellent. We requested upstairs seating but were put in the basement. The basement was nicer than expected. Would go back. The 4 stars are due to the price being on the high side for brunch and the fact that our seating preference was ignored.

Every time we go to the Buttery we are never disappointed. Luis, our server was wonderful and attentive. I tried the breakfast torta for the first time and it was delicious! Highly recommend! Also, the scones and muffins in the bakery basket had amazing flavor and perfect texture. Can’t wait to go back!

It was alright. Tables were really small, not really a good spot to take your girlfriend if you wanna talk and hear her. Place was really cramped and people were really loud. Good place to take friends and college buddies, that’s the type of ambience it’s more like a group restaurant. I had the salmon and eggs. Salmon was raw I didn’t like that at all, Didn’t state that the salmon was going to be raw on the menu. Also I asked for bread on the brunch pastry they gave us muffins. I honestly give this place a 6/10.

We were there on a quiet Tuesday and had a drink in the upstairs bar room before going downstairs to the pleasant dining room with a fireplace. Our servers were so nice and the food was yummy. Our daughter lives a few blocks away in the South End so we will be back!
