Located in the heart of Downtown Pompano Beach, South Bar & Kitchen is a contemporary Southern American concept with a heavy Louisiana influence, infusing Cajun and Creole flavors in a tantalizing way. The place is young and new. Love the ambiance of it. The outside area looked an awesome. My one complaint. It was really loud in there. People had to talk or I should say yell to talk over the music. We could not hear each other.

Neat place, deliciously creative food. However, for a half empty restaurant for Sunday brunch, it was understaffed. Our server was very friendly, but the service was soooo slow. Our second round of drinks arrived *after* our bill. I would’ve happily enjoyed more mimosas if they didn’t take literally 15min to receive each time. I had impeccable (and efficient) service on a weeknight, so perhaps I’ll try that again, but we will not be back for brunch.

This was my first visit to South Bar, but it won't be my last. We decided to try out the Sunday Southern Brunch. Everything we ordered was delicious, including the hoe cakes - which we were most excited to try. We recommend ordering the macerated blueberries on the side. The staff we encountered during our visit were so friendly - from our server to the guys who brought the food to our table.

Ordered from the brunch menu. The food was excellent and my old fashion was just the icing on the cake!! Will definitely go again!!

Had a very nice evening at South. Our server, Phoenix, was excellent and was the hostess who seated us. My Georgia salad with blackened shrimp 🍤 was outstanding. The gumbo might have been the best I’ve ever had.

The atmosphere and service were fantastic. We went for brunch ordered the chicken and waffles, and crab cake Benedict and everything was extremely fresh and seasoned to perfection. Fresh squeezed orange juice was some of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely will come back again for brunch and want to try the dinner menu as well.

The place is so beautiful, and the outside is very nice, but they sat us under a tree that kept dropping berries on us and in our food. And they were all over, and no one was cleaning them up
