Soulé Chicago is a boutique restaurant inspired by the first line in Biggie Small’s legendary hip-hop single,“Juicy”: “It was all a dream…” and the soulful memories of Grandma Bea’s laughter and Momma’s smile. The soul food kitchen has always been a place where family, friends and tribe would gather to catch-up on love.

We came for my mom's birthday. We all enjoyed our food. Nice place will we return.

Visited Soulé for dinner — 7:15pm reservation for six. We were seated within 10 minutes of arrival. Entrees (each comes w two sides) & two lemonades were ordered. The wait was EXTENSIVE. The food was brought to our table a few minutes before 9:00pm, one hour and 20 minutes after ordering. The lemonades were never brought to the table. Our server remembered the lemonades shortly after the food arrived, we declined at that point. Food was mediocre. We ordered fried chicken (decent), catfish (good), sweet potatoes (oily & little flavor), greens (good), red beans & rice (dry & little flavor), mac n cheese (meh) and the salmon cajun pasta (meh). Our server didn’t refill our water glasses until after the food was delivered. Our experience wasn’t unique — we noticed a few tables that also seemed to be waiting extensively for food. I wouldn’t return. Food certainly isn’t worth the wait, and the service needs improvement.

The waitress came to the table twice, once to take the order and once to drop off the bill. She did not check on us at all during the course of the meal

The catfish, green beans and Mac was very good! I loved the experience and service. Husband had the Surf and Turf pasta 10/10. Will go back again

The food was good it could have been better I feel my jerk wings were preheated and it tasted horrible I really feel like the food was already prepared It’s just feeling to me our service was great the lady who seated us end up having to take our order because the other lady was super busy I will be back to try again because I have to see if my theory is correct.

The food was good and staff was very pleasant. As an older person I did not appreciate the noise level or music choices for 7PM on a week night. Instead of nice dinner atmosphere it was more “club zone” for an early 20 -30 year old crowd. Maybe the “twenty-something” crowd is the audience appeal to the owner. I would like to go back on true adult quiet soft music night, which probably does not exist. Lastly, the owner could coach the staff on customer service. They were very nice but customer service skill as far as “time” response to: attendance at the door, ordering, delivery of food & final payment- very slow. Nothing a little polished training would not fix. I can truly appreciate this restaurant in the neighborhood and hope to see them flourish in a successful future.

My guests and I caught Soule on a rough day. We waited on our food 3 hrs and was told they couldn't give a 10% discount. Other than that it was okay. The lamb chops was tiny for the price and I would love to try it one day when it's not short handed. The waitress was very courteous though and gave us complimentary desert.

A wonderful mid scale dining experience.. Our server was very sweet, friendly and professional.. The young man that brought out water and removed our tableware was attentive and knew exactly when to inquire about removing things..We enjoyed lamb chops, macaroni and cheese and greens, my husband enjoyed fried chicken (white meat that included 3 wings and a breast) dirty rice(turkey sausage in the rice) macaroni and cheese, soul’e punch and a Arnold Palmer both non alcoholic.. drinks were sweet and good… Absolutely would return!!!
