    We love this restaurant but our service was beyond horrible, and I’m not sure when we will come back after such a bad experience for our important celebration

    The food was fantastic. Because it was a Saturday the service was must a bit slow. But, that should be expected for a busy weekend night. I will go again very soon.

    The food at Solare is always on point. The service is always attentive. Their cocktails are always excellent and innovative. The wine list is always excellent and varied. Last night was no exception on all fronts!

    Enjoyed our meal with out of town guests. The dining room is very warm and comfortable and the staff made us feel at home. I was disappointed in the appetizer assorted items plate, but the other food (salads, pastas and desserts) were wonderful. Certainly a spot that I will return to.

    This was our first time back since Covid. Solare was always a favorite but this trip was all around disappointing. We received the wrong drinks and had a hard time getting our server's attention to fix it. We ordered five dishes and received 4/5 at the same time, so we felt rushed and ran out of room at the table. The tuna special was fine. The arancini were bland and dry, and the squash blossoms had curdled ricotta inside--gross. The bread had huge air bubbles with very hard, almost impossible to chew tops. We begged them not to bring our fifth dish right away (fettuccini vongole). They didn't, but by the time we received it, it tasted like it had been dying in the window. The clams were pure rubber. We tried the spinach ravioli instead, which was okay. The wine was the best part, but we felt like we had to drink it really fast since we got all the food at the same time. And there were fruit flies everywhere. We both had to fish one out of our wine. The food, service, and ambience were sub par and very disappointing. There are many great places in San Diego and sadly Solare can no longer compete.
