I come to Sojourn Social with some regularity, and I have never had a poor experience. Because of this, when it came time to select a restaurant for a birthday dinner that I was throwing, this was a no brainer. OpenTable let me make a reservation for 16 right through the website, but I was sure to call and confirm that this was okay with the restaurant. I worked with the owner Johnny, and this dinner could not have gone better. He was incredibly helpful in helping me craft menu options for my guests, answering all my questions, and was tremendously accommodating (even when it came to having a vegan and gluten free option). When I arrived on the day of the party, the room was set up for me and my guests, with our custom menus spread across the table, and everyone complimented me on my restaurant selection because the food and service were fabulous. If you're looking for a place to dine for two or twenty, I can't recommend this place enough.

Our server (Emily?) was absolutely the best service we have had so far. We felt welcomed, she gave us recommendations with the menu and quality checked each dish. Everything came out in perfect timing. The Brooklyn sour was very good. Thank you so much for making it a great experience.

I ordered their shirt stake ($27). It was literally without any taste except for the chimichuri sauce put on it by the kitchen. I ordered broccoli instead of the French fries that it comes with. The broccoli was hard, with little flavor.

The restaurant was nice, hostesses seated me even though my party was late. We participated in restaurant week dinner on a Saturday where most restaurants aren’t offering restaurant week menu on Saturday. My only complaint was the fries to skirt steak ratio. Too much fries which made the steak look so tiny. Drinks were good!

We went to Sojourn Social for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was amazing, the pairing with different types of wine was a bit too much though; our headache was on the menu too. The only thing that made us unhappy was waiting for our appetizers for 55 minutes while being very hungry. They couldn't even give us bread with olive oil or something, considering the cost. 😕

This is a different type of review—at the beginning of our meal, we received a call about a family member’s passing. Our server was very kind and empathetic, and quickly packed up our foods to allow us to leave. I wish I remembered their name, they were so kind. (We did end up enjoying the packed food later that day, and it was delicious.) Thanks so all at Sojourn Social for being so kind.

Pasta Monday deal is amazing! 3 courses plus wine for only $35. The duck ritelli croquette was and zeppoles was amazing. The squid ink pasta was good, but not the best I've had. Service and vibes were lovely!

I really like the menu options and atmosphere of Sojourn Social, so I'm sad that our evening here was such chaos. They're usually understaffed, but the people were also polished. Now it's like no one there has ever worked in a restaurant before. What should have been a relaxing and uplifting night was made unpleasant by some of the worst management and training I've experience in a former neighborhood gem. * We were told I didn't have a reservation even though I'd confirmed through OpenTable and left a phone message that afternoon. They managed to accommodate us about 20 minutes later and it started the evening on an unwelcoming and stressed out note that persisted through my trying to post this review. * As others mention, the food was very slow to arrive. No one brought share plates for the appetizers and I finally took them from the next unseated table. The entrees came out after nearly an hour. Two were missing ketchup so I guess no one was checking what left the kitchen. * One order hadn't been placed at all, so my friend was served way after the rest of us. * They don't split checks more than two ways and we owned from $20 - $80, so we had to do all the calculations and write out a cheat sheet for the waiter. * Before I made the reservation, I confirmed that they were participating in Negroni Week. Turns out they were not, so the fun flights from last year were unavailable which was very disappointing. It cost them money too since two people then decided to skip drinks altogether. * Finally, I had to contact OpenTable support because whatever Sojourn did to my reservation put it in my dining history but blocked me from posting. I've been using this service for about 15 years and never had this happen. I hope they fix the problems (more training? small menu? different system altogether?) But I will not be recommending it or going back for a while.

There appeared to be only 2 servers taking care of the whole restaurant with no clear designation of areas. Service was slow and food was mediocre for the price. We did the restaurant week deal which was similar to the Monday night pasta dinner but more expensive. The quality and amount of food did not warrant the higher price

Amazing restaurant! Service is the best. Drinks were great and the food was good! Often times restaurants compromise the food for drinks but both the food and drinks were great. The servers were incredible and treated us like family. Would def come back again!

I went here for restaurant week. They had a menu included on the nyc restaurant week website for the time that I dined. When I checked in I told the hostess I was there for restaurant week and she said ok. When my party sat down they told us they weren’t participating. They should have told us when I checked in because we would have dined somewhere that was participating. They had a pasta night special which was ok but certainly not the menu I was planning on ordering from that night. I was mostly disappointed in the service. They were not apologetic and offered no discount or free appetizer or anything to make up for the fact that their menu was not as advertised.

The food is really good for a pub type of restaurant, the ambience is nice and the service is super, the noise level is loud. The young people have no trouble with the sound but as a senior it is tough. We go early to avoid some of the noise.
