The service was excellent! Chris made us feel welcome and did all he could to meet our needs. However, the food was very disappointing. Not really Peruvian food as we are familiar with. And to make matters worse, the price!! We spent more than we had anticipated.

Soco is a great little restaurant in Gainesville. The food and service were amazing, we got try new dishes, and the drinks were amazing. They are also child friendly so everyone in our group (from 68 to 9 years old) loved it.

it took 25 minutes to take our drinks and appetizers order after we were seated. Otherwise the food was excellent and our server was very pleasant.

A wonderful addition to Gainesville dining scene. If you have or haven’t traveled to Peru this is Peruvian cuisine at it’s finest. Pisco sour the official drink of Peru be sure to try. Don’t be fearful of the spices very mild and flavorful!

Saturday night at 7:15 and restaurant was about 1/4 filled. Nice ambiance, but zero service. We waited for 15 minutes after being seated and were not greeted by the wait staff, no water or anything. The Mexican Restaurant next door was great.

My wife and I we’re looking for a new restaurant in the area and decided to give Soco Seafood a try. Boy were we pleasantly surprised with the choice!! Great food from Peruvian dishes and great service from our waiter. Very knowledgeable about the menu and what each dish entails. We started with the Calamari Tacos which neither of us ever had before and we both were blown away with how good they were. My wife had the Salmon Ceviche at the waiter’s recommendation and loved it. I had the fried Panko shrimp which was better than I expected. They came with a house Passion Fruit dipping sauce that was such a different experience but was absolutely delicious!! I asked for more but it was delayed because they make it fresh in house. We will be returning and next time with some fellow foodie friends!! If your tired of the same old seafood restaurants and want to try something new, we highly recommend Soco Seafood!!

This was our second visit. The food is amazing. The waitstaff is friendly, polite and very informative about each dish. Very good margaritas. A little pricey but worth the extra for a unique dinning experience. Our new go to for a true evening out. We choose the raw tuna appetizer to share. My husband ordered the grill salmon with specialty baked potatoes. I ordered grill mahi mahi with shrimp and an amazing sauce. Definitely visit this restaurant and be sure to try something new and different.

Pleasantly surprised as first visit was not good during their grand opening. Still some minor complaints that were corrected on the spot - serving Red Wine ice cold - told I could get it at room temperature- main course was served to my wife before salad - server took it back and kept it warm. Some training and growing pains, but bottom line is food was great. I really thought we would see more local fish from Carolinas and Florida like grouper like they served at Atlanta Seafood!

Great experience on date night with my spouse. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was excellent. Owner came to the tables to great patrons and inquire about their experience. Our experience was superb. We would highly recommend and will visit again.

Soco is worth a visit, delicious food, ambience, extremly clean. We had tableside personalized service where the food options were explained in detail. Exquisite!

Hostess was irritating. We had reservations and she kept putting us in seats with sun blaring in. Waitress was very nice and new the menu well. Food was very good but small portions. We did enjoy and will go back

The lack of experience shows in this newly opened restaurant. The service was mildly attentive but always polite. They just haven’t been trained to check on guests, refill glasses or ask how else they can be helpful. The Peruvian egg rolls were hot and delicious, and high light of the experience. The fresh fish was served luke warm and the fish and chips hot. The vegetables were over cooked. The seating was not designed to linger.

If anyone in your party does not eat seafood or fish.... do not go. Only 2 dishes that are not fish or seafood oriented. One was a ribeye, and it is not that good.
