Fantastic lunch experience with amazing food and friendly, efficient staff. We were upstairs on a warm sunny day. I worried it would be too hot, but all the windows were open so it was pleasantly airy.

The food was amazing and our waiters were so sweet and nice to us :) Could not have celebrated my birthday anywhere better than here! Thank you for the glass of Champagne :)

The atmosphere was lovely on a busy afternoon, the staff went above an beyond with guest interactions, including the gentleman with a magnificent beard, who served us as we entered!

For good food and friendly welcome, this is the place to go!!! Big beard Duan and small beard Julien will give you a lovely evening dinner/lunch...we had both dinner/lunch there and both are really good....there is an absolute good food, good ingredients and love our job atmosphere...

It was my daughters birthday and I’d booked for a pre theatre brunch on Sunday. We received a warm welcome and she was wished a happy birthday and presented with a birthday chocolate brownie which made her day! Breakfast was delicious and the girls cocktails went down a treat too!! It’s perhaps a little expensive but well worth a visit - we will definitely return and recommend it!

An absolutely horrendous visit here. Didn’t get served, or given menus until 30 minutes after we arrived. The coffee was lukewarm. The food then came out 50 minutes later after asking twice where it was. The avocado toast my friend got was stone cold, after bringing this up to a waiter he was incredibly rude and stormed away. The portion size of my food was ridiculously small for the cost of it, my halloumi was cold and the avocado again was freezing cold, most likely frozen? We were then asked how our food was by our waitress to which we were truthful and said not great.. she then still charged us a service charge which we didn’t agree to pay. We ended up asking for a refund of this back. Never again will we back here. Awful service, rude staff and the food was mediocre.

Absolute joy. Had already sampled their delicious brunches so thought we would give dinner a try. What a treat! I had the delicious miso salad, full of lovely fresh flavours, the thinly sliced pear balanced the dish beautifully. The selection of dips and bread were great and the house white an excellent Pinot Grigio. The staff were helpful and charming and we were lucky enough to be able to chat with Chef Robert about his exciting new menu. Would definitely recommend for a chilled evening meal.

Brilliant experience- arrived that morning on the sleeper train and went straight for breakfast. Very friendly reception and service, great food and plenty of it.

Second time visiting and loved it just as much as the first time. The service is incredible, the guys who served us were so lovely. And the food is absolutely amazing!

This is a great eating establishment. Menu has a good range, with portions a good size, decent price and very tasty. Staff were lovely, really helpful, with a nice atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

We were rushed off our table in under an hour, when booking confirmation advised 1 hr 15mins. Waiter said there were people waiting! Took the shine off what would have been an overall very good experience.

This is a fantastic, busy spot, very handy for the city centre and Waverley train station and with excellent greeting and table staff. I’ve only had coffee on visits so far but the food looks great, with the added treat of being able to see it prepared in the open-plan kitchen. My only negative for this visit was that for a good part of my time there, the music was so loud it interfered with conversation which, as I was having a meeting (albeit quite informal) was problematic. I will be back, though, and look forward to sampling the food.

Enjoyed my eggs bene, the only issue I had, the food was served on very cold plates, hence the food went cold very quickly. Easy fix guys, warm your plates!

Best service - food amazing. My daughter is vegetarian, sometimes is hard find something good for us and her in one restaurant but Society Bar was that perfect choice.

This was my 3rd time visiting society b&k and I had suggested it to my family because I really enjoyed it in the past. Unfortunately I felt a bit let down by our experience. It was understandably very busy as it was midday on a Saturday. The service was good and our waiter very attentive, however the food was not up to standard. Firstly, my food was cold - maybe this is how it is meant to be served but I think the beans on toast (papa’s beans) would taste even better warm! My mum’s chicken salad did not have any quinoa despite the menu stating it would. She was too polite to say anything at the time but at £15 I think this was disappointing. It would also be a good idea to ask how customers like their egg that comes with the salad as hers was runny (she expected it to be hard boiled) which meant she couldn’t eat it but didn’t want to complain. Hopefully this feedback is taken constructively - usually this place is great & I would hope to come back in the future :)

The restaurant was extremely busy but we loved the food and the service was good …. We were not rushed at all. Glad that we booked our brunch .lovely choice of dishes to suit all tastes . Defo be back

Really friendly service, very attentive and personable staff. Great fresh food, cooked to perfection. The Scottish breakfast was great with lovely home made beans. The atmosphere is also really stylish, modern and cozy.

Sorry about the late review but was so impressed thought I would do a review anyway. Was in Edinburgh with family for the rugby and this was a great start to the day. Had booked a table which was ready when we arrived. The staff were lovely and very welcoming and funny. The food was really tasty and very filling. Prices were very reasonable and a great site at end of Princess Street. Will definitely visit again when next in Edinburgh

Second time at Society, full breakfast to set us up for the rugby. Only reason I scored four was it was a little cold this time. Will we be back, you can count on it. Food is delicious and service is genuinely friendly. You feel welcome from the minute you're greeted at the door. Fabulous place.

Service was great. Food overpriced. Small portions. Side of beans was tiny and an additional £2.50. Disappointed with the food. Wouldn't recommend.
