Celebrating 5 decades in Napa Valley, the Trefethen family are champions of estate grown wines. After purchasing their land in 1968, Eugene and Catherine turned their estate from orchards and hayfields to vineyards. In 1976, their Chardonnay was recognized as "The Best Chardonnay in the Word" at the Gault & Millau's Le Nouveau Guide's Wine Olympics. Their children, John and Janet built on this success and found fans for their other varietals, helping to turn the Napa Valley into the world-class wine and food region it is today. The service was good. We had the bread and eggs as appetizers and they were both very good, but they were the best part of our meals. We were looking forward to an amazing steak and gnocchi and both were a big disappointment. We were seated in a booth near the bar, and a bar customer got sick at the bar, which we could obviously see from we were seated (not the restaurants fault), however, as it was being cleaned up, they served our meal!!! No joke! Then a verbal argument took place in the bar area near us, and again, a manager or our server, came to check on us or our food during this altercation. It was all very strange. With the disappointment in expensive food and strange clientele interactions, we will not be back to SOB.

The filets were a little too salty because of the RUB they used. The side we had was too spicy for scalloped potatoes!!! Different from our last visit !!!! Different chef from last year?????

We had an absolutely amazing experience! Everyone was so kind and patient with us as we had our 7mo old. Food was amazing and prepared exactly as we wanted. We will definitely be returning

Nick was amazing. He is super chill and handled all our stupid idiotic requests with finesse. We had a great time and we’ve all been to sob before. We love this place and his service was pivotal to our superb experience.

We went to SOB to celebrate a birthday. None of us had been there before and the waitress was very helpful with the menu. The restaurant itself is decorated in such a fun way, it makes for great pictures. The service was outstanding and everyone wanted to assure that we were having a fabulous experience. The food was amazing. We started with a butter board and it was delicious. Everyone at the table got different cuts of steak and they were all very flavorful and tender and cooked to perfection. The sides were so good, but also sharable (we should have listened to our waitress about that). We got the black Forrest cake for dessert that was magnificent and the smoke from the dry ice was so much fun! We will definitely be back, but because of the price point of the meal it will be a special occasion place for us, but one that we are excited to return to.

Fantastic restaurant and the steak was so good. Asa was my server and she was AWESOME!!!! So very nice and the service was impeccable!! I’d come here for food just for her excellent service!

Food as always was excellent. Had a table of 6 and shared several deserts around the table. Excellent and a lot of fun. We were probably the loud ones in the restaurant.

This was our second visit and we STILL ❤️ SOB! Our waiter, Earl, made sure everything was perfect for us. My husband was thrilled with the Australian Wagyu and me and my friend feasted on the appetizers: bread, deviled eggs, crab cakes and poke ahi. All delicious!! Definitely worthy of a third visit. We will be back!
