A casual Italian(ish) eatery in the heart of Old Strathcona. Food inspired by the traditions and culture of Italy, cooked with modern techniques and ingredients.

Produce is chosen and cooked when it is shining the brightest. Seasonal vegetables are treated to showcase their quality. A selection of handmade pasta made from Alberta flour. Proteins in large format made for sharing, just like at Nona’s table. And tiramisu, who can forget!

Tasty tasty small plate Italian! Smoky Bear's sister restaurant delivers a delicious option! Gnocchi pillows that melt in your mouth! Great service!

Excellent - food was amazing! Every dish was carefully crafted, flavours and textures all worked in perfect harmony. Wonderful way to celebrate Mother's Day dinner with my family.

Service was impeccable. I don’t think I poured my own water once. Cocktails were on point. The food was great. I had the ravioli which I wish I would have paid attention it was filled with a red sauce. I’m more of a white sauce fan. I saw my neighbours gnocchi and wish I would have ordered that. My friend I was dining with expected to have chicken under their protein but after reviewing their current menu and the one they have online, there were a few items that were different. Loved the ambiance. Overall great experience. You definitely want to share plates there.

Bella accommodated our party of 7 and we had such an amazing dining experience! Highly recommend the “Leave it to Chef” option on the menu - all of the food was incredible and the portions were more than enough for everyone to share. Our server was excellent, he was attentive, knowledgeable, and super down to earth. The atmosphere was great, the venue is on the smaller side but it didn’t feel cramped or too noisy. I will definitely be coming back soon!

Dined here for my wife’s birthday with another couple. Overall, the food was quite good minus the meatballs. Service was outstanding until the end when we were rushed out because they had rebooked the table for another seating (2 hours after our reso). Normally it’s not an issue but had we known about this in advance we would have likely not made this reso as we wanted to enjoy our evening together.

Our group mentioned multiple times that we appreciated bella’s poppy, retro aesthetic compared to most dinner restaurants dark and moody style. The details all feel very intentional, given that it wouldn’t be mistaken for a brunch place serving dinner. All of the staff were so knowledgeable about the menu and gave very accurate advice on portions and preferences. We found ourselves very torn when it came to choosing a favourite dish or beverage because everything we had was so delightful.
