Welcome to the Smoke City Char Bar, an oasis in Downtown LA's Arts District. Featuring gorgeous interiors and comfortable patio seating (dog friendly!), Smoke City Char Bar is an excellent selection for Craft Smoked Meats, BBQ, Local Drafts and Specialty Craft Cocktails. Located just across the street from the landmark Arts District Brewing Co (set your GPS to 899 Traction Ave), free 2 hour validated parking is available in the Aliso Parking Lot (access on 3'd Street). Don't miss our happy hour: Thurs - Sun from 4pm - 6pm.

I loved the food and comfortable, friendly atmosphere. I recommend trying lots of side dishes - they, and the meats, were fantastic! I will be going back soon.

Smoke City Char Bar provided a comfortable,attractive dining choice in DTLA. The varied menu offered a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, and sides. The pulled pork was delicious as were the baked beans and macaroni salad. The brussel sprouts were also a hit at our table.

Great place. Chill and helpful staff. Pretty ambiance, great mocktail list and delicious BBQ. Loved the ribs and the mac and cheese was out of this world. Kudos to the Chef - a great place to go when visiting the Arts District.

Decent homemade style Southern food. I’m from the South, and liked it. It reminded me of home. The sides and brisket and fish were great

The food here is sooooooo freaking good! To start the deviled eggs topped with brisket are the bomb. So luscious, silky and delicious. The charred brussel sprouts have pomegranates in them and melt in your mouth. Mac n cheese is so creamy and silky and pair perfect with baby back ribs that are finished on the grill...OMG you talking about good eating! Service was great and staff is very friendly. They play an array of classic and current music and it is beautifully decorated with cozy couches and plush pillows. This is now one of our favs...

The meats were way over cooked, very dry. Flavors were ok, all the bbq sauces tasted the same. The plus side was that they did give you good portions. Atmosphere was ok, TVs were way too loud for barely any customers and the bench seating was not that easy to sit on.
