L'un des restaurants les plus prospères des États-Unis, ce steakhouse de New York a ouvert en 1977 et n'a jamais cessé d'être un succès depuis. C'est l'un des restaurants les plus occupé de New York et parmi les plus célèbres steakhouses dans le monde. Spécialisée dans les fruits de mer frais et le homard, les steaks et les côtelettes assortis, Smith & Wollensky est bien connu pour ses grandes portions, son personnel de service saisonné et son ambiance pop Americana. L'extérieur en bois est composé de moulures vert forêt sur des murs blancs.     Delicious! Adam waited on us and delivered exceptional service, and knowledge. The food was also delicious. We both ordered the ribeye (normal bone-in), both cooked to perfection. Whipped potatoes, creamed spinach, and seasonal corn were also good. Famous split pea soup also lived up to the title.

    Cajun Ribeye was very tender and well seasoned. Highly recommend it. Adam our server was phenomenal.

    So, I guess Smith & Wollensky‘s weekend wine dinners are very popular because the noise level in the restaurant was extremely high and we had to wait about 15 minutes before we were seated. At least we had Prosecco to tide us over! Service was exceptional. I had a Father’s Day gift delivered to the restaurant and they had it waiting for me when we arrived. This was my first time going to Smith and Wollensky proper. The other times I have dined here I’ve always dined at the Wollensky Grill around the corner, so I didn’t know what the seating arrangements were and that we could’ve requested a booth. We were seated at a small table for four people, and my sons kept getting bumped by people and servers passing by. When a booth nearby opened up, we ask if we could be transferred, but were told we could not because the party had requested the booth. Another booth directly across from us opened up about five minutes later, but by that time our meal and multiple side dishes had already been delivered to our table, so we turned down the offer of that booth because it just would’ve been too much of an inconvenience to move the steaks, the side dishes, the wine glasses, the drinks, etc. We had as much wine as we wanted to with our meal, which was great. My biggest pet peeve with our dinner yesterday was that it was cold. I ordered the porterhouse for two medium. It was under seasoned and It arrived barely warm. I paid an extra surcharge of $20 p.p. which I don’t feel it was worth. The vegetable side dishes were also cold. The potato au gratin was warm in the middle, but the cheese on top was cold and had already congealed. The sautéed spinach was bland. It wasn’t even sautéed with garlic, just oil. The desserts were very good. All in all, the Weekend Wine Dinner is an excellent value but I wish that the food could’ve been hot when it arrived at our table. Our server Edwin was very attentive and friendly!

    We were a little worried that it might have become too touristy over the years, but had an outstanding meal and good time. Our waiter Lin has been at S&W for as many years as our last visit and made us feel extremely welcome. Next trip to NY will include another visit, we hope!

    This place is definitely the quintessential traditional NY steakhouse!!! The staff, from hostess to our waiter Tony, were all so friendly and lovely people. The food was all delicious from our oysters to the Prime Rib for 2. Highly recommend this place if you are craving a steak in a cute atmosphere with super friendly staff.

    The reserved table was at the corridor. They told us that’s the other tables were reserved by their customers. We finally talked to the manager to change the table. I believe they do that because it is an online reservation

    The steaks, of course, were delicious but loved my New England Clam Chowder and great sides.

    This venue is run down, food and service are mediocre at best. Denny’s and Red Lobster serve better food at 1/10th of their prices. The waiting staff can’t wait for you to eat, pay and leave: it feels like a conveyor. Stay away.

    We had an exceptional meal. The service was particularly first rate and the food was delicious. We strontly recommend Smith & Wollensky.

    Service was not what was expected, I guess our server had a 10 top and a six top so he put the two of us out to pasture more or less. Food was good and it was a fun time, but I’m not sure I would go back because of the service. Seems the waiters and bartenders are very old-school and stuffy.
