Silica is a modern Australian restaurant situated right on Kiama's Surf Beach, boasting beautiful views of the coastline. Chef Luke Basic has created a menu with a difference. Serving large and small plates using seasonal produce, most notably, a substantial amount of organic produce from their own garden. We are fully licensed with a bar area upstairs looking over the water. We offer two dining rooms, both with modern furnishings and décor. They welcome all types of functions, including wedding receptions, birthday parties and corporate events.

Really excellent. The realness was well received. Not to much, not to little - quality of steak and simpleness of the vegetable addon, whilst being a little special. Like it.

We eat here regularly & as it was my wife's birthday we naturally chose here but we waited 1 hr 15 mins for our entree, one never even showed up, one of our mains didn't show up, ( was forgotten/ missed ) until nearly everyone else had finished, all our steak meals were very underdone from what we ordered. We were told on arrival that there were only four kingfish entrees left so we said we'll take them but then 15 minutes later we got told we have to order something else as it's all gone, like I said always enjoy our meals here either sit down or your take away so this was unexpected & disappointing, I realise you very busy however.

Went out for a birthday dinner that had been booked at least a week before. There was an issue with the table which was right in front of the air conditioner that was on high. They refused to move us to an empty table near by saying they were fully book. They left us sitting for over 15 minute with shared entrees on table with no plates- had to ask 3 times for plates. During the evening we were ignored.

It was extremely loud to the point two members of our party went outside to wait for 30 minutes till the singers left. Just as well as our food took over 1 HOUR to come to the table. The staff was very friendly and helpful but unfortunately they couldn’t help with the music or the delay in the meal being served. The entries were meant to be shared but the servings were so small we were lucky to get 1 bite.

The tasting menu was fantastic and represented really good value for a group of 8 people. The timing of the meal service was really good and couldn’t be faulted.

A memorable evening, beautiful setting overlooking the beach. A limited choice of high quality food, our vegan guest was very happily catered for.

Such a beautiful outlook to the ocean and lovely ambience. After our friendly welcome and first drinks, we had to wave down someone for service and an hour later asked how long our food would be. Staff very happy to keep the drinks coming, but food very slow.

Fabulous food... just a long time between ordering and between courses... feels like they may have been a waitperson down... but couldn't fault the cocktails and the food! Bugs and lobster in one meal ... yum! Will be back

Amazing oysters we both really loved them and our mains very nice . Service was good however one of the waiters was very under dressed for a restaurant of this calibre. Overall we had a lovely evening and will definitely be back Thankyou

Food is solid - well cooked to right doneness and with right amount of seasoning. Would like to see some unique items on tasting menu to get people more curious. Staff members are kind, polite and attentive, but the serving was a bit slow - I understand it’s probably due to kitchen staff shortage. Will be happy to revisit in the future.

Our lunch at Silica was a lovely experience. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. The service was friendly and professional, and great views of the beach. We so enjoyed our meal.

The Thursday "pasta night" is the best value meal in Kiama. I have never had a bad experience. The pasta last night was a pork ragu with orriccietti. The dessert was mind-blowingly good - a fig concoction with some kind of lighter than light mousse on top. But then, I have never not had a great dessert at Silica. I always find myself congratulating the kitchen staff on the desserts on my way out... Thanks, Silica!

The service and food was fantastic although it was very slow to come up. We asked for dessert in a hurry because we had been there for two anda half hours already. Also a cushion on the seats would be appreciated it overall it was great.

Silica was a beautiful place to dine and have lunch, the service was wonderful and food was great! My only downfall was it was a bit uncomfortably warm inside. It would’ve been nice to have some sort of air movement throughout but other than that I can’t fault!

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Service was prompt and the food was superb. Sensible portions too. The upstairs dining area has a charming ambience with views over the surf beach and adjacent park.

The food was excellent,the Kingfish entree was fabulous.My wife said it was the best Barramundi that she had eaten. Service was first class the guy looking after our table was very personable,he really looked after my wife and her special requirements.Just have to say great place great food we will be back.

Wonderful restaurant and delicious food. It was a busy night, so service was a little slow, but the food was perfect. We had oysters + bug for entree, and fish and brisket for mains. Good sized portions, very reasonably priced given the quality. Will definitely return.

We were booked in for 6:00 and were going to a show at the Pavilion for 8:00. Should have been enough time however the servings were slow coming from the kitchen. there were other people going to the show as well, one of whom left after the 3rd course. We were finished and on our way to the show at around 8:20 and missed all but 5 minutes of the first act. We did not miss the main show which started at 9:00. The young Dutch girl who was serving us was exceptional in looking after us and her efficiency in hospitality etiquette. All staff were courteous, proficient and helpful. The food was excellent.

The meals were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. The service was impeccable. There were six at our table and everyone wiped their plates clean, not one morsel left behind! We dined on a Saturday at lunch time. The restaurant has two levels and we have dined on each level. Perhaps the top level is nicer however if there are any mobility issues amongst your dining group, the ground floor experience is also fabulous.

Sensational experience. The charred octopus and balmain bug were excellent. We both had the Barramundi and it was outstanding also. Staff very helpful and friendly. We were very happy with the value for money, as this is top notch food. We will definitely eat here again.
