Modern Cafe Culture in the heart of Chester.
Whether it's a coffee in the morning, a light lunch on the terrace with a glass of wine from our eclectic selection, to an intimate dinner for two in the restaurant, we aim to offer something for everyone at every time of the day.
If you're not hungry join us for drinks in our bar area where you can sample some of our delicious in house cocktails.

This was a lovely find in Chester. Finding a vegan/plant based restaurant was amazing. The menu is Tapas style, there was 3 of us we had 3 Mezze between us, and 8 small plates. There was plenty of food, all total taste sensations. The service was perfect the young girl who served us was polite, efficient and attentive. I couldn't fault this place, the food, the atmosphere and service was amazing. Totally recommend this place and will definitely will be going back.

Amazing food! Great sharing small plates that had loads of flavour. We sat outside on the terrace bit which had a really nice feel with heaters and is covered. Even better it’s dog friendly outside and in the bar.

Central location and great vegan selection. However the noise level of the upbeat music made any conversation very loud. Staff were pleasant and the food really was quite tasty. Moved table but there were speakers blasting out the music everywhere. If you want to talk to your partner during the meal best go somewhere else.

This is a great place to eat with a fantastic plant-based, inventive menu. It’s lovely to sit on the covered balcony and be in the centre of town. It’s always got a really good atmosphere.

Shrub delivers both excellence in service and food, time after time. We have never had a bad experience there and the new additions to the menu, particularly the roasted cabbage with gochujang sauce was spectacular. I can recommend Shrub to all dners, if you're worried because it's plant based don't be, this is amazing food for everyone. 10/10
