Shorty's Steakhouse is a unique dining experience. Established more than 20 years ago, along the historic Randolph Street in downtown Garrett, Indiana. Shorty's Executive Head Chef James Morrow has created & curated our menu over 10 years, carefully straddling the line of fine steakhouse dining, with small-town Indiana fare.

We are located in Garrett, Indiana, 10 minutes from the historic Auburn downtown and the ACD museum. Also, 20 minutes north of Fort Wayne, Indiana, 15 minutes from Kendallville, Indiana and 25 minutes south of Angola, Indiana. We love that we bring all these communities together at Shorty's.

Shorty's is proud to offer bar seating, family room seating and an outdoor patio we completed last year.
We are laid-back and believe our guests' enjoy the incredible service & food without having to "dress-up".
We embrace the great and growing community of Garrett, Indiana and love that we can share amazing cuisine in an unexpected location.

Our reservations were available as soon as we arrived. We were given our drinks and then needed a little time to study the menu. Our waitress was very nice and helpful in helping us with our order. My son couldn't stop talking about how e liked the Ribeye steak. It states it is the best he has ever had. I had the philly Steak and cheese on flatbread. I think I would prefer bread and I am not sure I had any green peppers on my sandwich. But the taste was pretty good. I will be back again.

Shorty’s is one of those never fails to impress restaurants. Excellent all around. Special shoutout to the kitchen staff and Vivian our server. Food and Service both on point. And the Old Fashioned drink keg on the back bar is always a welcomed drink.

Really great appetizer to start- (haddock fingers) and two amazing entrees! I have to say the brussel sprouts were the best of anywhere I’ve had! Cocktails were almost too good! We highly recommend!

Excellent experience. My two sons and daughter in law joined me for dinner. Everyone’s meal came out hot and cooked perfectly. The boys loved their ribeyes and commenting on the flavors. Definitely will be back again.

There was a slight sewage smell. Sometimes server perfume can be a distraction from the taste of the food. Service and food were great.

I ordered the TBone special. It had good flavor but was a little tough. Husband ordered the grilled shrimp and it was excellent. The Brussel sprouts, garlic mashed potatoes and the rolls were very good. Our waitress was top knotch. ESPN on both tvs so if you like sports and good food, great place to dine.

Food was outstanding Service was a little slow, we were always waiting on our drinks to be refilled. She brought out the bill after dinner and didn’t offer any dessert or more drinks, she just had our bill in her hand.

As always, food and service were excellent!!! Shorty’s is our “go to” for a special occasion. My wife had the “Almond Crusted Haddock” which is one of her favorites. She was not disappointed! I had the liver & onions with fried Brussel sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes. It was fantastic!

Food was really good. Service could have been better. Appetizers did not come out but they did give them to us for no charge to take home. Took long periods of time for drinks and food. They were very busy. Would definitely go back.

Went here for dinner, and it was an extreme let down. We have had a few people tell us to eat here so we decided to give it a try. The wait staff is amazing! The food is not. For the price it is sub par. I got a 8 oz prime rib tip. I got it with mashed potatoes and steak fries. The steak was supposed to be medium rare, and the first time it came out it was medium well, and cold. The mashed potatoes are instant! And the steak fries are way over seasoned. For 30$ I would at least expect real potatoes. This place is over priced and the food is not good. Not to mention that I had to watch my husband eat his food and then he had to watch me eat mine because it was not done right the first time. The only thing that I really enjoyed was our waitress, she was plesent and very nice about everything. The next day both my husband and I were sick. First and last time!
