Le restaurant Public Kitchen & Bar découle du chef Tim Goodell du restaurant Domaine, au sein de l'historique hôtel Hollywood Roosevelt, présentant un menu composé de plats américains éclectiques. La salle à manger de l'ancien style hollywoodien ré-imaginé de l'hôtel faisant figure de repère historique propose aux habitants et aux voyageurs un cadre magnifique qui rappelle une maison privée élégante et accueillante. Un design d'inspiration loft offre un espace plus lumineux et éclatant souligné par des billots de boucher en noyer noir, des chaises de bibliothèque des années 1960 remodelées et des banquettes capitonnées. Embark on a flavorful journey as we invite Chef Mads Refslund to join us as a guest chef at Shirley Brasserie. Chef Mads will be treating our guests to a specially curated five course meal for one night only. Mads Refslund is a Danish-born chef renowned for his pioneering contributions to the New Nordic Cuisine movement. Refslund gained international recognition as one of the co-founders of Noma, a restaurant located in Copenhagen, Denmark, which quickly rose to prominence and earned multiple Michelin stars. Mads opened ILIS restaurant in New York City in September 2023. ILIS has been named La Liste Most Important Restaurant Opening 2024, Esquire's Best Restaurant 2023 from their Best New Restaurant List.

Fabulous food in an iconic landmark Hollywood hotel. Shirley's Brasserie is in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, a beautiful old hotel that used to be the hangout for Hollywood stars. The atmosphere is classy, with high ceilings. Wait staff attentive. The menu is limited but every item is delicious. Portions are perfect size to leave you comfortably full but not overstuffed. Tiger shrimp cocktail has four huge shrimp and a tangy cocktail sauce. Beet salad mainly beets and delicious. Seared ahi a nice portion of perfectly cooked tuna and the tuna crudo was bite-sized pieces of tuna soaked in a tangy sauce. Highly recommend Shirley's Brasserie.

Fabulous service with friendly efficient staff. Menu choices were great . Bread was very fresh ! The chef was stellar— dishes delightful for any palate and cooked to perfection with a pleasing presentation . Ambience was very pleasant.

Wow! I was looking for steak and found a great dinning experience. It was easy to find a reservation same-day (Thursday) at 6:30 pm. The staff was attentive and professional. Definitely high quality food and presentation. Very delicious! For starters, my dinner companion and I shared the half baguette which was EXCELLENT! I ordered the ribeye and he had the New York. I don’t eat red meat often so preparation is important. My steak was DELICIOUS and put such a big smile on my face and in my soul. :) We also shared, in order of tastiness, the spinach gratin, the mushrooms and the asparagus. It was also a birthday celebration so we had the profiteroles (this version was vanilla ice cream). The Shirley Brasserie version was a light dessert which is appreciated after a great steak. We will return for steak and to try the other items. Just wonderful!

I was staying at the hotel and visited the restaurant as a solo diner. The host greeted me and then asked me to wait for a table. A group of 3 and then a group of 2 walked up after me and were seated immediately. My espresso martini was too sweet for my taste but well made. The server was attentive. I ordered the half chicken but was informed that the roasted potatoes could not be swapped for mashed potatoes. This made absolutely no sense. It arrived with 4 whole small potatoes. I understand they were likely prepared in the same pan, but there is no reason you could not opt out of serving them together for a slight up charge. I ordered dessert and coffee. The coffee arrived quickly. After 10 minutes I was informed that the kitchen was unable to make dessert tonight. Fine. I would not have ordered the coffee without the dessert, but oh well. They did make it right and removed my martini from the bill. This was obviously a higher price point than the coffee and I found that generous. I would not rush back, but it was a solid option when staying in the hotel.

Food, service, and decor were all fantastic. The seafood tower had the tastiest oysters I've ever had. I forgot how beautiful thw hotel lobby is as well - it's like stepping back into 1920s Hollywood glamour.

We had a wonderful time at Shirley Brasserie. We started with drinks at the bar — Mon Blanc is so good! For dinner we had the steak frites, which had a wood fire char and flavor, and the pork chop, which was also delicious. We also had the onion soup and finished the meal with a sticky toffee pudding. Everything was perfect and we definitely will be back.

The food was ok but a bit salty in every dish. We specifically told them one of our folks had an allergy to parsley and to not have that product in the chicken. They then served the chicken and realized at the last second they put parsley in it. We then had to wait 20 minutes for another chicken. They made excuses but not good.

DISAPPOINTED!… I have been wanting to dine at Shirley Brasserie for several months. This weekend, we did… And I am in NO HURRY to return. The food was good, but not great. The service was HORRIBLE - very slow, very inattentive, totally disorganized. It’s almost funny how bad it was. It could have been a Seinfeld episode or SNL sketch. This poor server had a seriously hard time! And our experience suffered as a result. to add insult to injury… At 18% service charge is automatically added to the bill. Not a big deal, but they also applied that 18% to the expensive bottle of wine I purchased. That annoyed me very much. Don’t waste your time. Try one of the other dozens of excellent restaurants around Hollywood. Shame on you, Hollywood Roosevelt… Shame on you.

Beware. We were 4 at the table. Bill came ($500+) and it included an 18% tip. No objection to it except (1) nowhere on the menu or anyplace else are you warned that 18% will be automatically added to your bill and (2) it isn't called a gratuity or tip or any such wording on the bill (I can't remember the exact wording, but it's vague and I didn't keep the itemized receipt). I don't object to the 18%, I usually tip at least that but I would have been upset if I hadn't asked and unwittingly had tipped on the total which already included that 18%. The service was OK, the food was uniformly OK but not up to 'fine dining" standard , and the prices are definitely "fine dining" prices. It's a grand old hotel, but understand that if they are doing an event (our night apparently there was a Netflix reveal of "Ripley") you will have to make your way with a bit of difficulty to the restaurant on the 2nd floor (one of our party is blind). But the hotel has guides who will show you the way and they are great.

Came here for brunch on Easter Sunday/birthday. Had seen some mixed reviews about dinner experiences. Brunch was great. We had a variety of dishes from the menu. Waitress and staff were attentive. Great experience!

Service wasn't great and the presentation of the food lacked finesse. This is supposed to be a high end restaurant & it's pricey so they need to work on a few things. I've been once before when it was Barish and had a great experence. I was not impressed with Shirely Brasserie. Don't think I'll be returning.

I really love Shirley and have been a few times - my meal was lovely but unfortunately 3 members of our group were not satisfied with the cod dish (strange carrot sauce) and not a big enough serve size for the scallops… my steak frites was great through! Very slow service.

Justin and Elmer really did a great job with service. Couple of problems were that we ordered a bottle of wine about 30 minutes later. Justin told us that they are out of that bottle. I think it would have come better coming from the manager on duty. They also sat a single and he was about 3 feet from us. What a lovely place to have a meal a drinks before a night out at a Movie Premiere. The Onion soup was the best I've ever had. The beet salad was not only beautiful but delicious. My husband loved his pork chop.

Lovely restaurant in the hotel. The scrambled eggs was delicious. Not much for brunch menu but I will definitely go back for those eggs. Server was not really available we had to call on 2 other servers when we needed anything even the bill. Parking is valet with restaurant validation still $16. I will return just for the eggs.

Everything we ordered was fabulous. The service was friendly and helpful. Only strange things were that the host originally told us he couldn't seat us until everyone arrived, even though the restaurant was close to empty. After a couple minutes he seemed to see how ridiculous that was and he sat us. The other weird thing was that one entree came out 5-10 min after the others and nothing much was said. It's a great place but it would be helpful to have discounted parking for restaurant patrons.

The building and service from Nathan were both spectacular. The food, prices and the extra services charge were a bit of a disappointment from when we were there last year and it was still the Barish. We will likely not go back to the restaurant again….

The host, waiter, and busy man the service was outstanding - restaurant is just gorgeous and one the only truly "Old Hollywood" sites in town - and the food, while not inexpensive was excellent and tasty - overall we would highly recommend this as an excellent dining experience

Everything was excellent except one thing that always bothered me about some restaurants, bringing the bill before I ask. There was plenty of available tables, I don’t think they were trying to rush us out.

Old School Hollywood (in the Roosevelt Hotel) infused with hipster vibe with a tasty brasserie menu. The service was impeccable. And if you want something not more traditionally "French" influenced, get the delicious risotto con fungi with a side of grilled Brussel sprouts....

Always a great experience! Wood roasted prepararion is out of this world — try the whole chicken which comes with roasted potatoes and enough for 3-4 people. The en croute pate and charcuterie/cheese boards are amazing. Splurge on the baguette with home made butter. And leave room for profiteroles at the end. Love the ambiance and friendly service.
