Standing high above the city on the 10th floor of the City Club Apartments, at 309 Vine Street; resurrected from the history that has stood here before our time, Shires' Rooftop is inspired by the first amusement resort in this part of the country, Shires' Garden. Though the original Shires' Gardens burned to the ground, "in a most picturesque fire," the legacy that was left behind is everlasting and an integral part of the Queen City's history. The creation of the Matinee Performance, the regal guests Shires' hosted, an unsolved murder and other noteworthy events that took place at the original Shires' Gardens, are an inspiration to our program that we look forward to sharing with you.

I had the scallops as the entree and it was delicious. The rest of the food was just okay. Two ordered the salmon and we has three appetizers and two desserts. The view may have been beautiful at night but during the day you could see Paycor and the Reds stadium.

Reagan was so welcoming to our group. Even though she is a manager, she took great care to make us feel special. Se even made special non-alcoholic drinks for us. The atmosphere is very "chill" and the Shire is a great place to go for just drinks, or a nice meal.

Very, very slow service. It was Mother’s Day and our reservations were for dinner after the kitchen reopened from brunch. People were smoking on the terrace. I did appreciate the server confronting them. But they started smoking again after they left. The app took 28 minutes to arrive and the meal was another 28 after that. The enter’s shower up cold. The server informed us they would refill drinks, they did not. The adjacent tables were left uncleared. Birds came and started eating the leftovers. Overall, very disappointed.

I was excited and looking forward to treating my mother for Mother's Day. However, upon arrival, we were taken to a "secluded" table next to the restrooms where we sat for 20+ minutes without someone acknowledging us. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was a holiday, but we weren't even given a "Someone will be right with you" even though the bar was right next to us (3 people were sitting there) and several servers went past our table. After 20+ minutes we got up, returned our menus and left.

Took wife there for Mother’s Day brunch. Food was excellent. Though I could’ve used a bigger plate for my eggs Benedict. Everything kept falling off when I tried to cut the English muffin. The one big disappointment was that for a rooftop I would’ve figured that all the outdoor tables would be under cover of some type to shield from the sun. The establishment is 10 stories up after all. But there is reall only one table that’s under shade of some type. That’s going to be brutal come the summer! We ended up sitting inside for that reason. The views from the inside were still great. Just not quite the same experience.

Service was slow. We were a party of 2 with reservations and sat quickly. The restaurant probably only had 4 other parties seated inside (unsure about outside), but we waited at least 10 minutes before our server acknowledged us. We chose 2 brunch items and they brought the wrong item to me, but replaced it with the correct item fairly quickly. Lastly my friend ordered a 2nd cocktail and they must have forgotten to enter it. But they realized and comp'd that cocktail from the bill. Overall food was good, service ok.

We order the Chef's Feast For Two asking for the Josper-Grilled Filet Mignon between medium and medium-well. The outside was on the verge of being overdone, but the inside was rare. When we asked for it to be cooked more on the point of cut, it didn't appear that happened as it was fine in the middle, but the outside was now charred. The broccoli has the taste of charcoal as much as it did butter and parmesan. The shrimp, chicken, scallops, and mashed potatoes were good and the service from the wait staff was excellent. Overall we were underwhelmed with the overall experience we had.

Beautiful restaurant overlooking the river. We had brunch options avocado toast and rooftop Benedict. Both are delicious as well as the beignets! I had the frose and it was incredible. Highly recommend!

The Josper Grill turns things like broccoli into magic. We had the Chef’s Feast for two and each piece was a winner! And the building is really pretty.

Our first time there, there were four of us, with a reservation. We were seated and given menus and that was it. Finally..... after 20 minutes, I approached the hostess and said "apparently we are seated in no man's land", we want to order drinks and inner, is that possible? After that interaction, things moved along at a normal pace.

I recently dined at The Rooftop and was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was cozy, the service impeccable, and the menu diverse. I had the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection, and the dessert, a chocolate lava cake, was divine. Highly recommend for a delightful dining experience.

Service was sub-par. View was not spectacular. Food was okay. Drinks were good. Seating was uncomfortable. If you're looking for a "cool" place to go in Cincy, I am sure there are other places.

Beautiful and intimate setting with an incredible view of the Roebling suspension bridge. Very pleased with the salmon and a lovely vegetation dish with Potatoes, broccoli and mushrooms.

Quiet and gorgeous view, but overpriced and small portions with ok service. The waitress said they had over 50 bourbons but no list...and appetizers barely had enough for 2 to share a taste.

Birthday dinner with the girlfriends. Very nice setting. Service and food were great. Desserts were small in size (creme brulee and blueberry cheesecake) for the price, but very good. I would go back and if it's nice and warm outside, the patio would be a great spot to dine!

Absolutely delicious small plates and salads!! Wonderful service! Will be back!! We sat outside - it was a little cooler but great view and wonderful food and company!! A delightful happy hour was had by all!!

Restaurant week did not disappoint and Shire’s was a lovely surprise. I had the fried green tomatoes, gazpacho and steak - plus beignets! Everyone left happy, full and really excited to come back when the weather is warmer to sit outside.

I think the server did the best that he could given how understaffed they appeared. We went for GCRW and I have to say I was disappointed. The crabcake was decent but was very tiny and only came with one. The fried green tomatoes were okay. The pear salad had old greens and they used chunky bacon that wasn’t very flavorful. The “sirloin” was my biggest disappointment. The purpose of Restaurant Week is to showcase your restaurant. I promise you, this would not be served on their regular menu. It appeared to be covered in steak sauce? If it is a good cut of meat, it doesn’t need to be covered in anything without someone choosing to ruin it on their own. The asparagus was actually good but the potatoes were completely unseasoned and surprisingly had no sort of sauce in sight. We tried the beignets… they tasted very greasy and not in a good way. Overall, I don’t think it was a good value and did not make me want to come back again. This is so upsetting because of how pretty the place is and how much potential it has.

The food and our server was great! I’ve been here once before and recommended it to my two friends I brought along, but towards the end of our meal while we were still drinking and catching up the manager came over and told us she needed our table so we had to leave. We were “more than welcome to go to the lounge” but had to give up our table. When booking this reservation there was no time limit and wouldn’t have recommended it if there was since I hadn’t seen my friends in a while. There were also two other open tables of the same size available and many other parties that had been there a while. Probably won’t be back after that!

Okay, for starters the service was very slow as it took 15-20 min. to receive our drink orders. Another 15 minutes to get our food ordered. The first course of our restaurant week order was okay but my grilled shrimp were small then over covered up with an inordinate amount of cocktail sauce. Great food should be complicated with just a smattering of sauce. The entrees for three of us in the party, Two with steak and one with salmon were again covered with too much sauce. I was expecting any sauces to have been mentioned that they would be placed on top of all of those entrees. After I removed most of the sauce on my salmon to the side I could actually see the main course. Sauces are meant to complement the meal, not overwhelm it. It’s almost like the kitchen staff is doing its best to cover something up? Overall very disappointing. The serve staff never returned to ask how how the entrees were and basically disappeared after they were served. Not sure we will return sadly.

Was here for a 4 person bday brunch. Had reservations but waited longer than normal to be seated, I think short staffed. Bar tender was walking around taking drink orders. Once settled, our server made up for it as we know finding service staff has been difficult. Food was delicious and hot. Would recommend if you’re looking for a unique atmosphere.

This was our first time enjoying dinner at Shires Rooftop. We have been there for drinks before and were blown away… Now we can say that the same goes for the food! Their menu has a nice variety and we did try a decent amount of food between our group… EVERYTHING was amazing! We celebrated my husband’s birthday with some of our friends. I know he appreciated the nice dessert at the end to really put the cherry on top of the whole experience. The ambiance of this place is wonderful, with great views of the Cincinnati riverfront. It makes for a relaxing experience when you’re spending some time downtown!

My husband and I enjoyed “The Fest for Two”. the meal was delicious. It included a perfectly cooked steak, that was so tender you barely needed a knife, the salmon, shrimp and chicken was also cooked and seasoned to perfection. The 2 sides that came with meal (mashed potatoes and broccoli) were very tasty. I am one of those people that always have to add salt and pepper to my meal due to lack of seasoning, but it did not even cross my mind after the first taste. Our waiter was very attentive and our drinks and food were delivered in a timely manner. The view was beautiful, and we were able to walk out on the balcony since Mother Nature was cooperating, which has a good view of Cincinnati. This is a restaurant I will be revisiting and recommending to friends.

We went at 2pm on a Saturday before a Red's game. Had a fantastic time. Great cocktails, great brunch and great service....all just blocks from GAB. Really nice atmosphere to sit and relax. Loved it!

We sat inside as it was chilly outside. The atmosphere was relaxed and we really enjoyed our visit. Food and drinks were good!
