Le Shinsei est un bar à sushi traditionnel qui propose une cuisine panasiatique. Le Shinsei est né de l'envie de créer un endroit qui reflète un certain mode de vie : il arrive à tout le monde de sortir souper avec ses enfants et parfois avec ses amis et maris. L'idée était donc de créer un endroit où une soirée avec les enfants ne signifie pas que les adultes doivent manger une nourriture de qualité médiocre. De la même façon qu'une soirée passée avec les parents n'équivaut pas à passer la soirée dans un endroit oppressant où les enfants doivent étouffer sous le nœud d'une cravatte trop serré. En deux mots, Shinsei est juste un établissement de quartier convivial et charmant pour passer une bonne soirée. Une cuisine électrisante. Toutefois, la cuisine n'est pas suffisamment déroutante pour vous empêcher de déchiffrer le menu ou de reconnaître votre plat préféré. Jamais ennuyeuse, elle est réconfortante en en toute occasion. Les plats signature, par exemple, sont un mélange sophistiqué entre une nourriture de fin de soirée de bar et un somptueux repas sur le pouce doté d'une touche asiatique particulière.

    Our reservation was initially messed up. We booked for outdoor seating but were seated indoors. They fixed the problem but the outdoor seating wasn’t really outdoors at all. It was indoors but away from the bar and crowded area of the restaurant. The noise levels were obnoxious and honestly killed the overall vibe. We initially thought this would be a more quiet environment. However, the food was pretty good but didn’t amaze us.

    Confusion as to who our waitress was. Seemed like they were arguing over who had which tables etc. was told multiple times waitress was going to be different people. Wine service very slow as well. Not the norm at Shinsei. Was frankly disappointing.

    We love Shinsei and had another great dinner last night. Great wine list, super fresh fish with lots of very unique combinations and the service is always top notch.

    Sat at the sushi bar and it was great. Food, service by Elvis and his team, the waiter, strong and large cocktails. They are great at bringing great, fresh, unique sushi and always consistent.

    I tried this restaurant for the first time with my dad and we enjoyed the food so much! Our waiter was Casey he was amazing! Only negative was when we checked in to our reservation we were told by two host we had to wait to be seated after their “staff meeting” even though other guests were seated already. A bit weird.

    Waiter took out order and the next time he came by it was to ask if we were ready for our check. In the meantime, the miso cod was undercooked and we would’ve loved to have it cooked a bit more. We also ordered two sushi rolls which were not brought out until I pointed out we’d not received them when we were asked if we were ready for the check.

    The food was excellent but came out in phases. If you want items to come out together, you have to request that. The patio smelled like smoke so we moved to the bar inside which was very crowded.

    The service team upstairs was friendly but inconsistent. Our waiters never knew whether we were expecting more food or not. No one was communicating with each other. Our black cod arrived cold. The crispy shrimp appetizer was mushy.

    Tami was our waiter and did an awesome job!! She was very helpful with suggesting menu choices. Every dish was spot on! Ambiance was perfect. Great night.
