Experience the best of Shimogamo with our Omakase menu, which means “leave it up to you”. Our expert staff will curate a menu, tailored to your preferences and dietary restrictions. Please note that this is not a bespoke course, but rather a compilation of our existing menu and specials of the day. Designed for sharing, this menu is perfect for groups of two or more and requires a minimum of two guests. To ensure availability, reservations are required. The Omakase menu is priced per person and excludes tax and gratuity. Beverages are not included in the course but can be added at an additional cost. Please allow approximately two hours for a party of two, and three hours or more for larger groups.

Amazing. My friend and I opted to have the server bring out a selection of the restaurants most popular items for $160-$180/person range. It was amazingly delicious.

My girlfriend and I LOVE this place! We get sushi, a lot, and we find that this place really does have the BEST tasting sushi out of the places we go. The prices are reasonable. You DEFINITELY can spend a lot here (and it would truly be worth it) or you could spend a minimal amount (for sushi anyways). Either way, you will walk away thinking about how good the food was! 10/10 would recommend this as a date spot!

Well, we found our new sushi spot! Unbelievable fish quality and outstanding service to match. We sat at the sushi bar and it basically felt like we had our own private sushi chef. Shout out to chef Eric for giving us the meal of the year! Can’t wait to come back for many more celebrations!

Amazing service and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Can certainly tell the quality and freshness of every ingredient! Amazing presentation and consideration into every dish served. We love Shimogamo & will continue to splurge on date nights with the best Japanese cuisine around.

Shimogamo is a great restaurant. We were glad to get some seats on the bar and enjoyed watching the chef make our dinner and having the ability to ask him questions. The sushi was excellent, as we expected, but the desserts were unexpectedly great (Asian desserts aren't usually my favorite), being tasty, artful, and exotic.

The best meal we've had all year! The hamachi with jalapeños was very good. The seared scallops were delicate and delicious. The blistered shishito pepper appetizer was very flavorful and cooked perfectly.

Every bite was beyond delicious . The Sashimi was so fresh and all of the rolls were perfect . Our waitress Mika was courteous and always checking on us . We have been here 10 years in Arizona and tbis is by far the Best Sushi place in Arizona

We reserved an Omakase experience and it was outstanding! The Omakase course consisted of 10 different servings. Each serving was extremely tasty, well portioned, and served in such a manner that you didn’t feel rushed to hurry and eat. Outstanding!

Fresh, innovative, friendly, delicious. We loved sitting at the sushi bar talking and laughing with the chefs. Ester made us dishes that were just for us and it made us feel very special. 10/10 I highly recommended.

Our second time here and we decided to try the Omakase experience to celebrate my birthday! Hands down the best Japanese restaurant in town! The seafood was fresh and the flavors rich and complex. The sauces and dips heightened the culinary experience for us not to mention the presentation and outstanding service. Three hours and 10 divine dishes later we were ready to head home and make another booking with this restaurant for our wedding anniversary! Kampai!

Went here with my girlfriend based on the recommendation of her friend. The restaurant is clean and the ambience is flawless. The food brings me back many memories of being in Tokyo. The unagi nigiri melts in your mouth, the carbonara udon is savory and delightful, the green tea both hot and iced are excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants high quality Japanese food in a quiet setting at a reasonable price.

Tried the Omikase and it was absolutely incredible. I was incredibly nervous, but the staff worked with me and created a memorable and delicious culinary experience. I will definitely be going again.

I eat at a lot of sushi places in California, Hawaii and the Pacific Islands and this is by far one of the best. Food quality, service and drinks are first rate. When I visit here from California this is my first choice for sushi always. Don't miss it.

This was an unbelievably positive experience. It doesn’t look like much on the outside, but this is our new favorite. Jack was an awesome sushi chef and prepared so many unique and flavorful items! Jonah was our server and was very helpful and attentive.

Sushi was so good! Service was awesome too. This place is in a strip mall type of setting, but cute inside and obviously popular as there were many people there on a Thursday evening. Great experience!

We enjoyed our dinner at Shimogamo. We managed to be filled, and well satisfied without going the Omakase route, which would have been quite a bit more expensive. We started with the Shishito peppers -- a generous plate of peppers that were fortunately, not too spicy. We did not feel the dashi sauce added much to the flavor, so we dipped the peppers into soy sauce instead. The Agedashi tofu was excellent as before. The soy-bonito broth was beautiful. The Koji chicken salad was our best dish -- the breast pieces were very moist, and one of the best we have had. The tenderness rivals the Bresse chicken a la Mère Fillioux by Paul Bocuse. The salted scallion flavors reminds me of the Hakka salt-baked chicken -- an outstanding dish! We found the Saba Nabanzuke less enticing. The mackerel was nicely fried in a delicate batter, but the curry that was used had a slightly off-putting taste. The vinegar marinated vegetables balanced out the strong flavors of the mackerel and curry. We enjoyed also the Tsukemono pickles -- very refreshing. The black cod certainly topped the mackerel. It was tender, moist and a very crispy skin -- excellent with a bowl of rice. We finished with the panna cotta and the sake cheesecake. Of the 2, we preferred the panna cotta. The latter had an excellent coffee flavor combined with the kokuto sugar jelly. The cheesecake was light, well-paired with a delicate sake foam. It would have benefited from some fruit, which was missing. Service was attentive, but the kitchen was a bit behind tonight. It could not manage to put together a tuna tartare, and was missing all desserts except for the 2 we ordered. That's too bad, but nonetheless, a very satisfying meal.

Best sushi in the entire valley. Small space so you have plenty of attention from your server and sushi chef. All very knowledgeable but the star of the place is the food. Amazing selection of fish and as good of sashimi as you’ll find anywhere .

Outstanding! This place is for all levels of sushi eaters. If you lean toward less adventurous there are numerous DELICIOUS choices. If you are well versed in the realm of sushi, there are not only numerous choices, but the menu changes based on fresh availability. My husband and I haven’t been able to order Ankimo or ume in years. We tried hotaru ika for the first time…amazing!! Again, just outstanding all the way around!

This was not our first time eating at Shimagamo. This time did not disappoint. Food was excellent as usual. We tried almost everything in the menu. Some of my favorite dishes are miso cod and eggplant.

It was my husbands bday and our 10th anniversary, I made reservation in advance and booked a table , we been here many times so I knew how busy it can get and knowing this special occasion I wanted us to have great experience. When we arrived they told us that our table is by the entrance in the sushi bar area. I told her that it must be mistake bcs I made reservation for the main dining room and called few weeks before, I told her it’s a birthday and anniversary so I made all these steps to make sure we will have great dining experience. They didn’t care. She told us that main dining room is reserved ?! So what did I reserve ? A bar ? You gotta be kidding. Food was good , server was nice , but spending $400 at the bar for anniversary is not what I hoped to remember , we won’t be coming back .
