Set in the idyllic beachside town of Lennox Head in Northern New South Wales, Shelter is your home away from home, whether you are just passing through or you’re part of the local community. With the community in mind, we endeavor to use ethically sustainable, seasonal products sourced from local producers and suppliers. We are also keen on cultivating and creating awareness of the importance of supporting local growers while educating people about the food they consume as well as where it’s from and how it’s produced. Went to shelter for birthday lunch with my partner, we ordered the chefs set menu. 7 course lunch of seafood delights, an amazing selection and great value. Highly recommend.

Absolutely lovely evening. Great food, the olives, bread, steak was all so delicious. Staff and service were 20/10 Kara was amazing, the Shelter owner was lovely and The Jilly wine owners were great too. This wine tasting, dinner event was so much fun with lots of great conversations with beautiful people.

We had a lovely lunch . The steak was cooked beautifully & the dessert was delicious. Great coffee also . The staff were all very friendly and attentive . We had a slight misunderstanding with one of the meals and the staff were very quick to rectify it for us , which was very much appreciated. We look forward to coming back again soon .

Thoroughly enjoyed the Oysters, Scallops and Mussels. The service was not what I expected compared to previous visits. Received the wrong wine and our sides were delivered after we finished the main course.

Nice place, food was good but menu a bit too expensive for what you get. The dishes are nice but not that complicated to be worth $90

Once again Shelter's food excelled. The oysters were delicious as was the carrot dish. The only thing was this time we had the rhubarb dessert it lacked the pink peppercorns which made it outstanding the previous time we had it. Has become our favourite restaurant to go to in Lennox Head. We are Lennox locals and would highly recommend to everyone.

We dined at Shelter on Valentines Day as we do every year. The food was delectable and the service spectacular we enjoyed our evening immensely. We will definite return to dine at Shelter very soon as it is our favourite restaurant in Lennox Head. Thank you so much for the wonderful dining experience. Best Regards Kathy and Bill

I went there for the Valentine's day degustation dinner to treat myself on a lil solo date (I was going to have Valentine's Day 2.0 on the weekend with the man I am dating, but as it turns out, he got covid and that didn't end up happening). The staff serving me did everything in their power to make my experience the loveliest time.

We had the chefs menu. There is a lot of food but you really get to try so much and it's worth it. Every dish was exciting but there were some real standards. The scallops and the bug rolls were amazing.

A very interesting and delicious menu. We had the taster option where we enjoyed six entrees and one main. The wine selection was also extensive. The service was excellent. It was a little noisy but the excellent food far outweighed it. Highly recommended.

I think we were overcharged but I didn’t realise until we arrived home - scollops x 6 $42, bug roll $28, market price fish $50, 1 glass rose Adelaide hills $16? Was charged $150

Shelter is a great restaurant with excellent service, which can be hard to find these days. Another non-seafood option (not vegetarian) would be great for people that are allergic to seafood, otherwise it’s just steak or vegetarian dishes. Presentation and portion size was spot on too. Thanks for a lovely night out!

Great food. Great venue. Great service. Friendly and attentive staff. Anywhere inside is really good to sit. We were on the high bench at the back which had a great view of the ocean.

Could not recommend higher. I’ve been several times for breakfast and lunch and it’s always been perfection, both in quality of the food and service. Our dinner last night was equally as good. Consistently good.

Hard to find a better and more beautiful location in Lennox Head for outstanding food. Contemporary dishes supported by a good wine list. The food came a little too fast, along with a touch of ambivalence from the wait staff. We will be going back!

Outstanding meal and service food was absolutely beautiful the only disappointment was getting charged for tap water trivial I know but our bill was $342 for the two of us so I think tap water should be complementary.
