Fish was good, fries underwhelming. Calamari disappointing. Easy walk from Michigan Ave. Past menu choices have disappeared / moved more towards sushi.

The Seafood salad is normally an entree but our wonderful waiter suggested there CB of us share. Brillisnt! It is as delicious as you could imagine. Our entrees were perfectly prepared and very tasty. Finishing the meal with one of the amazing desserts was the top off needed for a fabulous dining experience. Well done

Waiter took very long. They put tap water when we had bottled at water. Took drinks before we were finished. Didn’t get bread until 20 minutes after being seated.

Shaw's is always a family favorite and especially the Chicago location. It was a great Mother's Day choice. Food was fantastic, seemed especially good this afternoon. Lobster was awesome, King Grab fantatisc, jumbo lump crab cake a must have (better than the tasy Maryland Crab Cakes), east coast oysters (ME & NH) some of the best, and the parmesean crusted haddock with spinach, lemon, and capers seemed to be the best ever. Service was weak and unattentive. It was a slow start, but then did get drinks fairly quickly. We then were pushed to order too quickly, we could have just started with apps. We did complete our order, outside of sides. Then waiter and help disappeared for 25 minutes. I really like a crisp white wine with my oysters, in 25 minutes, my wine was gone when my oysters arrive after a long delay. We could compate service with our neighbors, who ordered oysters after us, and they arrive in about 5 minutes. When waiter did return, after I had finished oysters with no wine left, I did ask for the wine list, which perhaps should have been offered earlier. Waiting for that list was another 15 minutes. Was looking around myself at service stations for a wine list. Also, there was no input on King Crab order, our party member preferred it chilled, but was not prompted that it could come two ways. It did arrive chilled, but it was a long wait to see or waiter to tell him and discuss side dishes, which he said he would come back for. Food was awesome and service a better cadence at the end. Perhaps our server needed help. Just someone else to check-in. Bus people seemed to try hard not to make eye contact as we searched for help.

Norwegian King Crab leg and walleye for our entrees were both excellent. Server Marco was top shelf all the way very personable and paced the delivery of food and drinks perfectly.

We dine here all the time and neither of us thought the food was as good as it should have been. Our server was very good but there seemed to be decline in the food quality.

Shaw's is a Chicago institution for excellent reasons - the oysters are the freshest in town, the New England Chowder is the best in town, it has a nice selection of sushi, and a good wine list - to name a few. It's the perfect place for a date or group celebration or a business dinner. There is always a mix of families, couples, business people. The service is consistently top notch. The atmosphere is old school with dark wood and white linen table cloths but not at all stuffy - it's comfortable and inviting and while there is always a buzz, you can easily converse at your table. One caution: if you tend to be chilly, bring a sweater or jacket - the main restaurant tends to be cold temperature wise.

Wonderful selection of oysters and fresh fish. This time we had Two types of east coast oysters, the shrimp tempura maki roll, and yellowtail sashimi, wonderfully sauteed fresh Lake Erie Perch and the seafood fettucine pasta. All nicely prepared and we finished with a delightful Key Lime Pie! This is a 10 out of 10 seafood restaurant. Bob D

Absolutely loved! It’s like dropping back in time. The dining room feels like the 1920s at its best. I almost expected Gatsby and some flappers. Service was perfect and food was spectacular. Prices for Chicago are very reasonable for the price. Would love to repeat on a future visit to Chicago. Dessert sampler is generous and fun to share. Nice when a classic lives up to its legend!

Outstanding from the oysters and Champagne at the bar to the delicious dessert. The waitstaff were excellent. The server even got me another glass of wine when I didn’t like the one I ordered. An excellent night all around.

Loved our dinner at Shaws. Chablis was yummy.. Our waiter was attentive. The sushi was delicious. Our dinner was wonderful. We’d definitely come back the next time we visit Chicago. Understandable why it has a full dining room.

We were celebrating our anniversary and at first the hostess sat us in a noisy table in the middle of the dining room, but I asked to move to a more private table in the dining room and they accommodated. It took a long time for our server to finally come to our table and he did not explain the menu or anything about the restaurant just took our drink order and left. The food was good, but not great or memorable. There are way better restaurants in Chicago. The dining room is dated and feels very old school or chain restaurant like. Nothing special. It would have been a better experience if our service was better. He rarely came around and we just said waiting idly for long periods of time.

As always, the food was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive. Was disappointed we couldn’t dine in the Blue Crab Lounge but there was a private event going on. Was really disappointed to learn that after all these years Jambalaya was removed from the menu.
