Went there on Mother’s Day. Won’t be doing that again. Service was bad. There was hardly any acknowledgment from our waitress whatsoever. I understand they would be busy considering it was Mother’s Day, but at least come by and provide status or check on us after the food came. She didn’t even put in my order so I got my food after everyone was finished.

Food and service were great. Considering it was Mother’s Day they kept up with what was going on and didn’t skip a beat. Food was awesome and perfect for us to celebrate together.

We had been to shake and muddle just once for brunch about 2 weeks ago. So we decided to try them out for dinner, we had our expectations a little too high I think. Because our brunch was so delicious and then our dinner was a bit underwhelming. We ordered appetizers and were enjoying the ambience but kept being asked for our dinner items every 3-4 minutes. We finally ordered our entrees only to have each plate come out at different times! My steak was the last to come out and I had upgraded to truffle fries vs. the usual herb fries. There was little to no truffle, my daughter ordered the chicken parm and got overcooked spaghetti noodles. My husband got the birria nachos and to be honest they were the star of the night! We paid close to $200 for a meal I could have ordered at Denny’s! Maybe bring all plates out simultaneously instead of making it awkward for people in the group who wait until everyone gets their meal before they start eating!

The food was delicious. I had the calamari with shrimp appetizer with the seafood risotto as my entree. Each course was tasty and delectable. One point of feedback was that the seafood in the risotto had shells/tails which made it difficult to maneuver. The live music was a nice touch.

My friend and I had such a great time here! The food was amazing, and the drinks were so delicious we each ordered 3 because we wanted to try different specialty cocktails they were offering. Out server Jacob was so great and very knowledgeable on the food and drink menu. Over all a 10/10 dining experience and we highly recommend Shake and Muddle!!

The restaurant is so cute!! It has a Giant Deep Sea Diver Jake inside! The table was awesome with a nice fire in the middle. The service was impeccable. The server never left us with an empty drink, the food was pretty fast and she was very attentive. The food was absolutely fabulous! There were 5 of us and we all got different entrees. Everyone loved the food with no complaints at all. This will be our new brunch spot for a while to come!!

This place exceeded my expectations! I knew they were known for their drinks, which were delicious, but the food was also great. We got the ceviche, octopus, and birria nachos, and they were all delicious!

Me and my wife love this restaurant! The food is always delicious, and the prices are very fair! The few times we’ve been, the service has been top notch and it’s never crowded. In my humble opinion, I think it’s a cut above other restaurants in Chula Vista!

Went to S&M for a first date on a Friday night. Fantastic place with a scene for Chula Vista, however it is a small place and having a DJ blasting music made very difficult to hear. We moved inside the restaurant but somehow it was louder. Would have been great for a third or fourth date, but it's hard to get to know each other when you have to take turns yelling at one another. I could see S&M being the hip, trendy and popular place to head on the weekend, but I could also see it being a secluded, semi-private and intimate place (think speakeasy). Overall great place and looking forward to going back during the week.

We came to celebrate our Leap Year wedding anniversary. The staff was so welcoming. The food was amazing. Cannot say enough good things about our wonderful dining experience . Will definitely be back before our next Leap Year anniversary!

Went to Shake and Muddle for date night. They had live music playing which was a pleasant surprise. Service was great, drinks are excellent and food was timely and delicious. Looking forward to my next visit.

Service was not as good as it usually is. Our server forgot we were even there and didn’t come back to refill our waters and we had to flag down different employees to order more drinks throughout the night.

Went for Valentine's with my husband and 2YO and everything was absolutely amazing. I've been before for Happy Hours and didn't think about going for a special occasion, but I highly recommend. The staff was attentive to us and the little one and the live music was great and the tables decorated for the holiday. The food was unique and super delicious. We will be back!

I absolutely loved our experience yesterday for Valentine’s Day. The menu was amazing. The food was amazing. The drinks were amazing everything about this establishment was very beautiful. Definitely love the jazz player that was there. Nice and cozy. Definitely 100% well worth it.

Went there for Valentine and though I had not dined there in over a month the waitress and waiter remember me and gave a very warm welcoming. Most other places don't even acknowledge the returning/frequent patrons. The chef and the kitchen staff go that extra distance to ensure that your food is prepared and presents well definitely recommend shake and muddle for a wonderful dinning experience

Made a reservation for inside low table and when we got there the interior part of the restaurant was full and we were given a high bar table… ok. Our server came by pretty fast and asked what we wanted to drink but we’d just sat down and needed a second to see the menu… she took forever to come back… We placed our order and waited and waited… As our “high” table was beside the bar I could see the bartender chatting away with the people at the bar, 15 min had passed and no drinks for us… finally he starts working on our order and drinks are brought. Waiting to place our meal order and again waitress was nowhere to be seen… I know it was Sunday brunch time but if they know they’re busy they should be better staffed. The bartender’s job is to attend to his job which is making drinks and only when he’s done of course chat with the customers but don’t let the orders sit there. Food was very good and the sweet bread they offer when you arrive is a nice gesture. If I had known it was going to be that slow, I would’ve had a pastry, this is our first time having Brunch here. They are dog friendly on the outside patio and they do have heaters which we’ve enjoyed in the past.

Really enjoyable experience on a Saturday night. We had reservations and were seated and attended to quickly. Food and service were both excellent, super cool vibe (no shade to Chula Vista, but it definitely felt as though we were in a totally different and more cosmopolitan city). There was a singer performing a variety of covers with a guitarist accompanying her. Both were very talented, though the noise level was a bit overwhelming, despite the fact that they were outside while we were seated inside. All in all, very impressed with our experience, and would absolutely return!

I ordered the meat omelette and tres leches pancake. The meat omelette was really tasty. The pancake did not meet my expectation. Tres leches should be moist and the pancake was dry.

I loved this restaurant! It's tucked away but right next to the parking garage which is ideal. The food we had was amazing, so much flavor. Very nice ambience, big upgrade to the 3rd avenue bar/restaurant scene. Highly recommend!
