The menu focuses on sustainable seafood, with a coastal cuisine menu that spotlights the best of the region's oceans, farms and fields, ranging from the California Coast down to the Baja Peninsula.

The food was amazing! We had the wood grilled whole fish and it was perfect and really delicious. The waiter was really good and his recommendations for food were perfect. Our water glasses were always kept fill. The chairs were just ok. The pillows that are for the seat back kept falling out the back. I didn’t like that. It was a beautiful night next to the ocean however a seagull flew over and pooped on the table getting in my daughter’s drink and on her phone. The waiter immediately cleaned it up and brought her a new drink. Overall an amazing dinner.

Ambiance is great. Outdoor seating with a view of the beach but you’re paying for the view. We’ve been here 4x about once a year and it’s still the same. Food is good but not worth the price. This time we ordered a Greek salad $21. This was the size of my fist and was all orange and red bell peppers. Rarely any cucumbers and no onions. Also ordered a kids French toast for $15 it was literally one piece of bread. Greek fries tasted like frozen fries. We did have a lobster roll and you can get a bigger size at lobster west down the street for half the price. Greek French fries tasted like frozen fries from a bag. Tzatziki sauce was decent. Overall service and ambience was great but food for the price tag is not.

We had grilled octopus, ceviche and Mediterranean salad. It was plenty for both of us. The food was fresh and delicious! We were sitting outside, looking over the beaches and pacific ocean. It was beautiful and very pleasant.

Serea Looking forward to Serea getting a Michelin Star. The consistency of the food is without a doubt a testament to the consistency of the staff. Our servers were Mark and Rudy. Mark was the primary server and has been there over 25 years. Rudy has been there over 40 years! Mark was so knowledgeable about the food, the history of the restaurants and hotel, and Coronado. They truly made it an experience instead of a meal. On to the food. Perfectly plated and delicious. The cocktails were perfectly mixed. My wife had wine, but I started with their Kalamata Martini. For an appetizer, my wife has the roasted beats and I had half dozen West coast oysters. (Being from the East coast, I had to have West coast) The beat salad was delicious and earthy. The oysters were super fresh and delicious. A perfect pairing with my martini. For dinner, my wife had the filet mignon and I had the seared and smoked Tuna. We have eaten all over the world and I have to say, this was the best steak we have ever had. Cooked to perfection (medium rare), it was extremely tender. My tuna was perfectly seasoned and plated to perfection. We had Brussel sprouts and mushroom risotto for our sides which was enough to split. Their desert selection was terrific and we decided to go with the “Message in the bottle”. The message is edible and contained a note from our server team to us. The dessert was served in half a bourbon bottle. It was salted caramel ice cream and gelato. The whipped cream was more of a pastry filling which blew us away. The drizzle was a bourbon glaze. This was a truly memorable meal.

My wife and I are spending a week in San Diego as tourists. After an afternoon touring the incredible Hotel Del Coronado, we enjoyed a fantastic sunset dinner at Serea. We had a beautiful outside table, maybe 50 yards from the ocean. I had shared tuna and my wife salmon. Both dishes were fantastic in both taste and presentation. Outstanding service as well. Hands down a place we can recommend.

Decent food, but we were blindsided on the cost. My wife ordered the scallops special, and I ordered the whole fish. They were both listed at market price, our fault for not asking what the cost was, but were amazed when the bill came. My wife's dish was $74 and mine was $83. The food was good, but no where near justifying the cost.

The restaurant was 20% filled on the inside and 60% on the outside. We waited ten minutes before we were eventually greeted by our server. Our drinks were excellent and served in five minutes That’s when the broke down we waited 1 hour 40 minutes to be served room temperature food and it is only because I blasted the manager he started with the typical I’m sorry I will see what’s happening and our honeymoon dinner was ruined by horrible service cold food and a nosy way overpriced experience. He did comp the meal which was the right thing to do and we tipped the waiter it wasn’t his fault the kitchen is disorganized and untalented. If you want a nice outside experience and don’t mind being over charged and gets boring cold food two hours later this is the place.

Unable to reserve the time slot wanted even though tables were available. Not happy with the excuse of “being slammed”. They knew this particularly weekend was busy. Manager could have had more wait staff to accommodate this situation

It is beautiful… ocean view. We sat outside and that was the best part. Drinks were extremely slow but good once we got them. Servers were nice. Food was just ok… avocado toast was burnt.. like black. Out of some items. Steak and eggs… steak was under seasoned… rubbery … just not great. So beautiful atmosphere .. mediocre food.. lots of empty seats but still had to wait 45 minutes with a reservation.

Food was great… once we actually got it. Took several asks to get our drinks. When you’re ordering a $27 glass of Rosé, you shouldn’t have to wait too long or ask multiple times. On average drinks were 30 min apart. Manager even said food would be out in 2 minutes and it was actually 14. Yes, we timed it. It was one excuse after another. Hot mess. As a local, it’s really hard to govern referrals to visiting coworkers and friends when it was like this. I’ll try it again in a year or so and hope for better service. Such a beautiful place and in the past has been good. We all have bad days.

Stunning restaurant, stunning menu. My only wish is the glass on the windows not be frosted so that indoor diners could see outside
